What the....?
« on: September 18, 2006, 07:46:21 pm »
Whenever I try to open a folder or use Explorer (Not IE, IE sucks), my taskbar thing and all of my icons dissappear for a couple of seconds. Then nothing happens (aside from my taskbar/icons reappearing).
Yesterday I started using wincustomize/Stardock tools, and somehow I think that's the source of the problem. When I uninstalled most of it yesterday, everything was fine;. But now my computer's acting up again. The only thing I didn't uninstall was the logon screen thingy. I'm about to se if I can use Add/Remove Programs to get rid of it and hope for the best, haha.
Any suggestions? Do you know what's going on?

Press alt+ctrl+delete to open the task manager.  Go to Processes and look for "explorer.exe."  If it's not there, then go back to the first tab and click on New Task.

Then type in "explorer" and see if anything happens.

Thanks, but the same thing happens...
Oh, right, I forgot to uninstall wincustomize.
I can access my files through Opera, but I'd just love to be able to open folders.

EDIT: No luck. When I tried to run Forstwire from Opera, it said something like "Unable to access Frostwire.jar". I'm going to try this from another account....

EDIT: Hm, I noticed that after uninstalling the LogonScreen thingy, my logon screen hasn't changed.
****ING......
Also, I tried to open Windows Explorer on the other (administrator, lime mine) account, same thing happened.
I'm going to run Ad-Aware (thank god it's on my start menu).....

no the .jar extension is usually used for Java related stuff (Java is platform-independent)
it can also be firefox extensions, witch is also platform-independent

Um, reformat. Installing that stuff will slow your computer down. If it does that it probably means it doesn't have enough memory. But I didn't read into this with detail since i cbf'd but I'm probably right. I'm always right.

Yeah, that would be the easiest way to fix it.
