DM/Htf Shiver

One of my better maps in both looks and layout. A bit of a fusion of Eskimo Girls and Mr. Snowman. High Quality Multitex (HQMt) Good for 4-12 players. No wypts.

I absolutely love the shading, texture, and scenery.

Aswell as eycandy it looks like it might have good gameplay.

Everything about it is just swell. Definitely one of your best maps so far.

Needs some clouds, and maybe some invisible side and roof boundaries outside. I think I'll waypoint this later :)

Its not as much that I use it more, it that I sometimes say to myself,  "Hey, **** doing anything, I'm gonna make a map!" Then I sit at my computer for 5-6 hours and make one. Then I go eat. Then I sit at my computer for another hour thinking of a name and then playtesting. Then I spend another hour trying to waypoint it, then I say, "**** it" delete the waypoints. Take a few shots of teh map and post it here. It's sad really.

Great map, I like the transition from white to brown, looks very nice. I also like the overall layout by using right size in right places, you have made perfect sizes for different areas which is very rare too see now days. The whole map, from the looks to the gameplay is very good also, this is a 9.5 only because I am tired of grouping trees, I saw almost the same as on another map just a while ago, but still it is great. All the best man.

You sit there for an hour just thinking of a name? oO' Random name generators, man! They're on Google, and SoulSnipa even has one specifically for Soldat ;D But I can't say "Shiver" is a bad name at all for this atmosphere.

I spend way more time in polyworks, but I end up throwing away 90% of my creations.

Map looks rather delicious, I must say that is a nice texture combination.

First I must mention that there is already map named Shiver...

Overall map is ok. But layout is too simple for such big map. It needs more elements and routes. Also there are too many sceneries infront of player. And i personally don't like gray colours of background.

What VTT said, plus there are some polybugs. Also, it has too many polygons/is too jagged or curvy in places where you walk, esp. the lower route, though almost all maps have this problem. Long flat polygons/surfaces are better. Overall it's pretty cool if not that original. I use that black polygon method in your other thread for making layouts too o/.

Overall, good map.  Have to dissagree with VTT on it being too simple for a big map; being overly complicated can get in the way of a good time.
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

That's true, but I think some simplicity is removed by making the roof accessible, especially if some soldat spawns are up there (I've been going on foreign computers; I haven't downloaded the raw map as of yet, so I don't really know)...

gorgeous map, regarding layout AND visiuals!

the snowy grass bugs me though... looks surreal
+ the fences sometimes are a bit displaced (just like on screenshot 2)

good forest although consisting of basicly 2 tree scenerys :)
I like to have one Martini
Two at the very most
Three I'm under the table
Four I'm under the host

Nice multitexturing, however as VTT said, there are too many sceneries in front of the player... this is a redundant problem in maps full of sceneries. ;)

Also there is another map named Shiver already, could you please rename it to something a bit different? (even shiver2 would do, or just pantshiver...)

Great map.  I like your multitexturing skills, however, what bugs me is all that white on the rocky portion of the texture where the snow overlaps.

And those trees look like a copy&paste job.  Try to vary their positions next time.
