Skin Changer
« on: October 07, 2006, 04:07:56 pm »
So I downloaded the sscc program. I have selected my soldat.ini file. And when I change the skin color, or any other color and click apply, it says that all changes where succesfully saved. Then I start the game, and my skin color remains the same. Nothing I change in the skin changer seems to have any effect. My player looks exactly the same. Is there a trick to this or maybe there's more than one soldat.ini file? How do you do this?

There IS more than one soldat.ini file. If you have registered soldat, each profile has an ini file just like soldat.ini. You will find it in the profiles/ folder, with the same name of your profile. Make sure you select the .ini file, because there's an extra .txt also to save your taunts.

If you are registered with Soldat, alot of people (including me) found that SSCC wont work if you have custom profiles so delete them and use the default profile.

SSCC works perfectly fine with profiles, you just need to manually open your profile with SSCC instead of letting it modify soldat.ini.

Yea, thanks I found it. There is more than one of these .ini files if you have a registered version. Now I just thought of something interesting. When you make your skin invisible, what would happen if you open up the .ini file go down to Skin, copy that value and paste it for shirt, pants, hair. Would that make you completly invisible? I don't really want to temper with it, might screw up the game, but just curious.

The values are calculated slightly differently; pants etc never have alpha.

I meant normally. I do believe the alpha value is masked out, as in color := color & $FF000000;.

The point is, is that soldat just ignores the alpha value present in the color, and uses an internal alpha value, depending on if you are in predator mode or not. Only the skin is able to have an alpha value used.

I tried copying skin color's value to shirt, pants, and hair color. Doesn't work.
