Discuss about this weapon.

This is a bit tricky weapon, i have to say. In CTF, there are two people running to the different direction. If the spas does not slow down, and the other one does not slow down, spas will most likely shoot 2 shots before another one can get spas killed.
And the spas pellets have such of a big radius that it is kind of a easy task to hit, as long as the player has some days of experience. Open maps are a bit more tricky, but spas + socom can hanldle if spas gets near enough and hits.

Another thing is DM + others where that high speed is not that necessary. People are aware of spas, mp5, deagles and m79 and dont move alot, they can snap them off from far ranges in big maps. Small maps are different case of course.

The boosting is another pretty interesting thing. I have been playing some cw's lately, where i see enemies boosting around with spas. Well, i remember when minigun was "omg u fucking minigunsurfer die asshole" -weapon, because all you could do is just surf/boost, but now woth spas yyou can either boost, or kill, or first get high speed, turn around and kill almost with 1 shot, boost again, get flag and boost back to own base, same can be done with minigun, but u cant slow enemies down with it that much + it does not make almost any damage, except from VERY short ranges.

My solution would be longer reload or slower ROF OR less boost +(maybe) less knockback on enemies when hit. Not much, not to ruin this weapon, when it once got it's usefulness.

never seen someone do that, never done it myself..

no matter how skillful he is with a spas, get above him and you're fine. drop on him and shoot.

1. the shots are always randomly directioned.

2. the shots won't go far before falling down.

it's not hard counter spas.

Nah spas is fine cause its horrible for long range and often the shots don't register. And boosting doesn't work so well cause it only has 7 shots. It already reloads slowly enough.

the only thing i would change about the spas is the ROF, increase it a bit and it should be a bit more balanced.

Spas is one of my favorite weapons in the game, even though I am not too good with it.
But I often find myself using it, especially in games that are not so important. I sure don't find it overpowered, because like said, Spas is pretty easy to counter with almost any weapon. Socom as secondary weapon does make you bit more invulnerable, but considering socom's range, it's not THAT big difference.
In my opinion the Spas is fine the way it is. I think that few versions back the Spas boost used to be even more than it is now, I don't think the boost should be reduced, at least not by much. I hardly use spas because its boosting though, it's just a fun and the most interesting short range weapon imo.

I think the spas should have 104% speed. Just me though.
Even in real life it isnt that slow. (But then neither is mp5)

spas out of all weapons (i believe) is the most balanced weapon!  It has its advantages and disadvantages that make it so unique:  It's only good short-range and can push the enemy.  Personally, I don't like using it because it is slightly too risky to play with - after all, you have to get rather very close to the enemy to deal signficant damage...

It's best feature is how it reloads.  If your out of ammo you can get at least 1 shot off very quickly and sometimes that's enough to survive.  In realistic mode the spas is almost always a 1 hit kill from any closer than half of the full range.  But for all its advantages It's still easy to take out a spaser if you attack from afar.  I think It's a very balanced weapon.

i dont think the spas needs to change here are some reasons:
-Pros-
1. Very Effective short range
2. has knockback to keep off chargin enemies
3. very powerful
-Cons-
1. Horrible range
2. not very accurate spread
3. nearly useless when tryin to shoot up at people
4. very weak at distances
Your acting like your having a duel and your opponent gets a pistol and you get a spork.
Isn't that pretty much what it is? I dunno wtf a spork is, I suppose it's way weaker than the pistol since you compared that to this.

Spas is one of the most balanced weapons i believe. And if you shoot him from distances well your fine, once you get close to him...your a goner...

In my oppinion this weapon should be stronger ON CLOSER RANGERS.
which means not getting that far, u can spray with this gun easily which mean pwning all the tunnel players.
it's just so easy gun to use and bah, overpowered.

it only does that on the first shot while hes reloading, since when the soldat reloads the spas, he is holding his shotgun parallel to the ground, so the first shot doesnt go were you are aiming unless you are aiming right in front of you

The better players have no problems countering the spas. I, personally, have plenty of trouble playing against good deaglers, and I see people saying that the deagles suck now. Clearly something's not right there.

I don't think it's overpowered at all. Leave it as it is. Please? 8)

er.... no. It's easy to kill at close range, though for some reason my aim tends to go down the poop chute when I'm trying to hit someone about an inch away in the air... I keep missing lol. I sucketh.

The spas is so already powerfull, it's a close ranged weapon. if your aim is good you can kill in 2-3 shots close, 3-4 medium and 4-5 longranged.

I would have to agree with you.
The recoils in Soldat are pretty exaggerated, so there should be almost no push effect.
Also, it's odd that you can fire a second time while the shotgun is still being cocked. The rate of fire should be decreased by maybe, 10, 15 ticks?

Weapon balance makes soldat unrealistic.

The spas 12 in soldat has WAY too much recoil - the recoil irl is so tiny you would notice it.

@hootie - you can fire a spas 12 when ever you want. reloading, cocking, anytime. it's like an ak-47 - never jams and extremely reliable.

In real life a shotgun does not make you have to step backwards, I have spent lots of time around shotguns, and i have fired many. Unless you are a little kid, a shotgun will not push you backwards.
