EnEsCe, EH most likely meant code hacker, not "stupid soldat hacker."  Personally, I'd take that as a compliment....

... it's all about the context man, all about the context.

Have you told us everything you know, Brick? I don't know, seems like there's more to it. If these problems are gonna be solved, everything needs to be revealed.

Let sleeping dogs lie, Fluffy.  No need to keep stirring things up.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams it is
still a beautiful world.  Strive to be happy.

That doesn't sound like a right way to lead the forums. If there is something else to tell, then it definately should be told.

Nobody has even said anything to have you believe that there is more to the story.  There isn't.

I want to say, that regardless of everything that has happened, I fully trust and support FliesLikeABrick in his judgement when it comes to the forums, after all the time, money, and effort he has poured into the forums to improve them from the past. I know by now that he only has the communities best interests at heart, despite what some people think. He really deserves a bit more appreciation for what he does, rather than the hate mongering and rumour spreading that's been occurring.

The same goes for EnEsCe; he has put a lot of work into the dedicated server, fixing bugs, making it stable, and what does he get in return? He recieves hostility and suspicion that he has secretly included backdoors into the server, all of which is absolute BS. I beta test the server and hunt down bugs constantly so they can be fixed, before the server makes it public, so I get to know exactly what changes are made between revisions so I can test them, and attempt to make bugs reproducable so they can be fixed. If it has to come down to MM compiling it himself, so be it, but it's completely unnecessary and will only serve to hurt the community: everytime he has to check over the various thousands upon thousands of lines of code to satisfy a few people, is time that he could have spent working on Crimson, or working on Soldat bugs.

I know some people have made mistakes, but no one is perfect, including myself. You can't all focus on the past; you have to move on and look towards what the future holds with a group of people so dedicated to Soldat's success, and the community's success, so that maybe, just maybe, SoldatForums can be a little bit happier.

I'm still waiting for a response to my older question. :P

Are there any other reasons why Stalky left? Or was it just the whole password issue that made him go?

Chrisgbk, you have summed up everything I have thought. Flieslikeabrick is a great guy, if he ever asked me for help for any reason, I would try my best to help him out. Any questions I have ever asked him have been answered with respect and kindness. He is truly an amazing person with one of the best personalities and traits a person could have. For enesce, I have not talked to him much, maybe 3-4 times, but I know that if MM had any doubt that he would do anything bad he would not have given him the code.  For that reason alone I trust enesce and I think more people should see what his supposedly b "malicious" doing was with the servers, I am not him, and I dont want you to think i am speaking for him, but all he was doing was seeing if he was correct with the bug he found. But I think he should really say himself why he shut them down. I do respect him and I think all mods and admins need a little more respect from the forum users, they do help out, be nice, and overall do whats right day after day, and I think that they are great people.

All the best -jettlarue

Good Point.
If I remember rightly, the server that we are reading these forums from cost Flies about $4000. Thats alot of money! He didn't have to, but he did. And look what you guys do! You abuse the poor guy because of a few mistakes. Hell...they arn't mistakes in my opinion!...Lay off him guys!

Exactly!
WHO CARES IF HE HACKS!...it is a skill that many don't know how to do. Cheat hacks in games are patheticly small compared to what major hackers do. If this guy can hack, then good for him! Its not about him hacking is it?...you just can't stand that for what he does, he still gets to part of our community....this guys, is lame.

And this is why we should not doubt Enesce. Whether he makes "backdoors" and holes, there is always someone else combing over it to make sure.

Now, if this is what michal has to do for the rest of his life, then I wouldn't be suprised if he throws in the towel and gives up now.

Give up guys, whatever you say will be useless. Remember who runs this forum, and all he has to do is click his mouse a few times and pow! instant ban ;)...so watch your mouths.

Damn seems like Soldatforums "have created a own world".
Bad guys, evil guys. Secrets and lies. Evil guys become nice guys and vice versa.

But yah i think we should really put this behind us.

It all started as a game called Soldat by MM. Now this game turns out ...or i mean the forums turns out to a "dark place".

Things that have happend will never be redone. Whats been done is done.

We live in an unfair world.

I hope i could help somehow in the future.

There's always the chance my coworker could leak inside information without so much as batting an eye. My company is willing to ignore those problems because he writes very clean code quickly.

And in the case that he did leak information? They aren't exactly going to turn a blind eye and hope that he won't do it again...

Weigh your options, Dan. Befriending him is much better than leaving his knowledge with enemies who would plot against us. Punishment by banishment undoubtedly makes the situation worse for both parties.
