DM/HTF Gothic
« on: October 05, 2006, 02:04:15 pm »
Medium-size map in *Gothic* style... New sceneries, texture with edges, promising layout... polygon under tent heals. However I've got some problems with texture, so texturing is a bit too smooth with less details  :(

Waypoints - Yes (as usual...  8))
Recomended players - 2-4

-=Scr1=-
-=Scr2=-
-=Scr3=-

-=Download=- 1.1 mb
-=Please rate my map on SML=-

Credits go to X-Tender and WB for their sceneries; to NoB for making screenshots.

my mappac isn't updated yet due to some circumstances...  :(

Thats sexy :o

Too bad I'm not a DM/HTF person. I'm downloading it anyway.

That map looks really nice, but is there any use to the top fogged part of the map? Can you even get up there?

2 Commander Kitsune: Well, normally you can't go to the top area. But you can do nade-jump and fly through thin polygon roof of the barn on the right side of the map.  ;)

Ooo...pretty.
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

This doesn't really look gothic, but it's dark.  I like the fogged-up woods at the top.  The scenery overall is really great!

The texture looks lovely.  The way you shaded those polygons gives it that 3D effect, I see, but personally, I think it's a bit weird.

About the waypoints.  I'm rather curious to understand why you set a couple of Alpha waypoints near the Alpha spawn area to "wait # seconds" in the DM version.  It makes Alpha behave retardedly and they cannot make it to the next platform most of the time.  Perhaps you can fix this?

Overall, this map is tasty, with pretty scenery and a neat layout.  Great job!

1 I have no idea why it doesn't look gothic for some people...  ???
2 I've really got some problems with texture so I'll try to impruve it...
3 I guess I'll beter made new waypoints for HTF version...

For me Gothic means rocky mountains covered with dark fir-tree forest... and with some kind of castle on the cliff  :D (there will be castle on ctf_gothic)

VTT, remember your map "Soul Hunter?"  That is gothic.

That map also had a gigantic background scenery... would be nice if ya fix it aswell.
I cant play some of your maps because of this issue.

I forgot to comment the map... Its awesome (as usual... 8)) It gives you a nice feel, just as if you were in a real forest.

Woah, sweet map.  You're maps are always nice looking, and I like some of your technicues, such as the fencing.  It kinda reminds me of Half-life 2: episode 2.

I found one very annoying problem with your style: your maps are always too big for their own good. I feel like there's too much space to move around in. I feel like scaling it 85-90% should help it.
