karma?

how does the "Karma" system work and what exactly does "Karma" mean. Are there any advantages of having positive Karma, and is it bad to have negative Karma?

The idea behind karma is that people will applaud you if you contribute to the forums and smite you if you do just the opposite.  Whether it really works or not is debatable, but right now the only positive or negative effects are how people judge you.

if you post on a day you get 1 karma.. if you dont post that day you do not get karma
it shows that you are loyal to that forum and come everyday.... thats why i have 900 karma

wrong, post count increases each time you post, karma in this case increases every day you post.

I'm all for this Karma system, but we need a sticky explaining the terms of it's use. This is because I initially mistook it as a rank of who was nice or not. As i understand it now it's who is the most helpful/knowledgable. This is a bit unfair on noobs (like myself) that know little about modding, mapmaking etc. But hey, it encourages us to learn I suppose.

25 posts before you can use karma.

Before 25 posts, you can only see your karma fluctuate. After that, you can applaud and smite other people, thus affecting their karma.

nope, the system is completely anonymous.  The only way to tell what is causing your karma to fluctuate is by thinking about how you've been posting and what you've been saying.
