Emerging from the shadows, only one man can take down an army.

Splinter Cell mod - Soldat.

Gamemode? Yep.

SC20k - all attachments (Shotgun attch., Sniper attach., Rapidfire attach.)
Replaces any gun except Deagles

Silenced Pistol
replaces USSOCOM

Fists will be uberpowered, as to kill in one hit because of the neck snapping/knockout power.

Knife will be OHK (one hit kill) as always, but used a lot in stealth kills.

Maps should be flat, with no jets, lots of air vents that only the Third Eschelon teams can go in,
Terrorists/enemy team will just go on a simple patrol pattern,
course, player characters will probably be stupid and go spawncamp the TE team.

Some maps will be inf, kinda like get the objective, get back while the terrorists are hot on the Third Eschelon's tail.

Team matches will be centered around getting to a certain player, like a protection gamemode.
Third Eschelon will try to get to the objective without setting off to many errors with the terrorists.

REMEMBER : Main objective is STEALTH. Make as many shadows and hidey holes as you can.

DAMAGE:
Based on Chaos Theory's weapons
Auto - 3 hit kill everywhere
Shotty & Sniper& Knife & neck snap/ incapacitation - ohk
Pistol - 5 hit kill

Lead Mod Team :
That One Guy - Lead Designer, Graphics, Weaponry.
Nfsjunkie91 - maps, constuctive crit/ideas on what to do next, possibly sounds
Hammer Of The Gods - Comic Relief/Freakin' ideas, and O YA MAP MAKINZ
Swarm - Map Sketches and environmental ideas
And Ubisoft, for bringing us such a great game.


This is just to inform you that a new gamemode will be going over the Soldat community, and I really hope it's gonna catch on. Note, this is just the text file I sent to my mod team, so the "REMEMBER" area doesn't really matter to you guys, but whatever, I was just gonna tell you about all we've got so far, and there's ingame screens, but they're too early to let anyone see them.

Well, can you do alpha-transparency shadows? I saw your lights, but can you do realistic-ish shadows?

TOG do we even need extra devs? Looks like you guys are handling your modeling pretty well, NFS can do shading/lighting, and I can do most maps in less than a day. Maybe we could grab someone else to shade the maps when I'm through, I haven't seen NFS's handiwork yet.

 But what about balancing the autos if they're 3 hit kills , will you add bink and mov acc to compensate for that or what??

That brings us back to our original problem of when we wanted to make Ring Air Foils and Sticky Shockers, we can't really make something to incapacitate but not kill an enemy. We are working on an idea I had to make it so that if you fired one of those things or used a bottle, it would make it so that for a minute or two the person had the full bink effect constantly.

Nfs should be doing the weapon mod, you'll be pretty accurate with the SC and pistol, but we'll come up with stuff. It'll be different enough between the weapons to be fun, but just enough to make it so that you can always come up with stuff to do.

Not a bad idea. BUT, we can't do it, grenades can only be thrown and blow up, they can't just not blow up.

Counter-Strike, Splinter Cell, both great games albeit the former is 80% douchebags. This is more than just reskinning a few guns though, this project is going further into actual modding.

Edit: I just released the first map for this mod, you can check it out if you want although it is going to seem rather bare for two reasons 1) it's my first map in a while and 2) you will be playing it without the mod. The flags are going to be reskinned so that it is a briefcase you have to bring back to the Third Echelon's spawn. Download the map here: http://www.freefilehost.co.uk/742774

I can do shadows. Realistic shadows. I planned on doing that anyway.


I reccommend making the fill of the interface graphics 25% opacity, otherwise they look rather half-assed. To do so, make a .PNG, then rename the extension from .PNG to .BMP. It actually works.

They are kinda half assed. I was planning on redoing the shading this weekend.
