I haven't had a lot of practice at Soldat recently.Â (That might be it initially).

I have been frequently visiting U13 servers and, with trusty AUG / MP5 in hand, attempted to blast away at the enemy.

I have noticed recently noticed that I seem to continually get butt-fawked by the Ak.Â I know that it has good dmg/bullet, and it is very accurate, and I had used it once (for about 4-6 months), and was extremely good with it.

I've been thinking about returning to use the AK.

Thing is, I don't use the AUG b/c it is good necessarily.Â I like the way it looks.Â You may not agree, but I think the AUG is one of the secksayest guns, ever.Â I just...Â Like the AUG.Â

I mean, lets face it.Â 73?Â That's only slightly better than the mini.Â Most people find the AUG hard to use.Â Th AK is definetly better (in terms of stats).Â But I still like the AUG...

I like German weapons better then Russian weapons

At lest I thin AUG is German and I'm pretty sure the AK is Russian

I like the steyr more then the AK. I used to love the AK but then I found the Minimi and I've stuck with that for the big maps ever since. Steyr is the all rounder so I use it in most maps like Laos and the rushing maps. And it's priceless in Voland. Every weapon can be just as deadly as another in the right hands.

Close enough, it's Austrian.

The AUG is sexy as all hell.Â I'd use it more, but it has a pecularity that always throws me off.

I posted a thread about this in Improvements a few weeks ago, but it didn't get much attention.

To summarize, when you fire a burst with the AUG, the first bullet goes beneath the crosshair (as expected), but all the other shots go high. This only happens when standing, not when crouched or prone. It doesn't happen with any other guns. It has nothing to do with self-bink, because it's been around for longer. (check the link for more details)

This bug annoys the crap out of me... whenever I fire a burst with an auto, I use the first shot to correct my aim. When I do this with the AUG, I end up shooting way too high. Please fix $:-\$

Heckler and Koch is German
Steyr is Austrain
AK is / was (originally) Russian

The one thing about the AUG that I've always loved, is watching some poor noob with an m79 trying to get close to me from afar, shooting randomly to get me, while I hold him back with my AUG.

At long range the Stayr can be really frickin' annoying.

But ither than that, almost everything about it can be done better by another auto.

MP5=Agile, Close Range

AK=Controlled, All range

FN=Controlled, Mid + Long

Mningun = Support Fire

Steyr = ALL OF THE ABOVE.

It can everything, but not that well, I guess.

My love for the Steyr is starting to bubble up again!

Steyr was one of the first weapons I used after my m79 phase. (A short phase at that)

I use HK MP5 now. Because it has the fastest reload and I never charge into battle without a full clip.

I am starting to have doubts about my Hk Mp5. I get raped at long ranges. Pros just keep their distance from me. Hk is good, but at long ranges it is harder to aim, because of it's sharp-curved bullet trajectory. I will start using other autos, but I still can't decide on one.

Actually, I don't really have any favorites. I'll always use the Steyr AUG, probably use the HK Mp5 for the tiny maps, and use either the AK or Minimi depending on which I'm playing best with.

My favorite weapon is by far the dual desert eagles. Allthough I suck with it, I find it's sexyness overwhelming, and I'm somewhat drawn to it whenever the server doesn't call for a good rank. I just think they're awesome, and people who are really good with'em just make killing seem so easy

I'm learning the ways of the ruger at the moment, but it just doesn't seem as cool. I spent about 6 months trying to learn the deagles, but, whatever I do, I just can't seem to get the hang of it. Please someone, be my realistic deagle sensei!

I like the Steyer as well, though. It's always the weapon I choose when the heat is really on. It's fast, powerfull, agile, accurate and has low reloadtime - it is reliable. It's a fair counter to any enemy, so you're never set of wrong if you pick this one. You gotta love it..

I was good with deagles once... but it sometimes takes 2 hits too kill and that is too slow so I go for the ruger...

The AUG is awsome, nice high rate of fire and decent reload speed. However, the AK does more damage and has a bigger range, although I find myself getting raped up close by and Mp5 or similar. I guess one of the things that makes Soldat so awsome is the weapon balance. It also depends how you use the weapon, eg. rushing with an m79 is asking to be killed and camping with a shotgun is just stupid. Hope that helps.

if you can develop very good aim with the AK, you can destroy the AUG. Plus i like the way the ak looks on the gotesk.

^^Agreed. I definitely think the AK is the ruler by looks. It's pretty good for 'low player' matches, where you have much better chance of running into a single enemy than a whole group. The ak is perfect for taking out single targets.

Well, I prefer AK. It kicks ass - full screen range, good damage, more than enough ammo, great for killing any almost dead people in your view range. You can't escape :Q
P.S. Try to have nades and use them well, helps a ton.
