In all honesty, Bricks was the one who converted me to Firefox.
You even got me tampering with Ubuntu my friend. It would be my permanent OS if it wasn't for the compatibillity issues.

Bja, some MS development group was bragging about it while they were working on IE7 and had it in beta.

As much as I use and prefer Firefox over IE, I can't help but think that it's only a matter of time before hackers start targeting it as it keeps growing. Just as many people think OSX is a better OS without all the security issues Windows brings, I believe that's more a matter of hackers going after the major applications and OSs and not wanting to spend time on things which really aren't widely used. I do think that the Firefox developers would likely be faster to respond to any issues than Microsoft would be and has been.

Sure it would be, but the people who use alternate browsers are usually competent enough to be consious of their computers security, and therefore take care of it better. I do see your point though; I wouldn't want to switch to Opera or IE just to get away from a security flaw in Firefox that hackers are abusing, either.

Anyway, back on topic, it is good to see that Firefox gets some recognition. (Not that it wasn't before =p)

While this will probably happen eventually (and is most likely starting to happen), since Firefox is open source there are more people looking in the code for potential exploits, and more people available to try and fix these exploits when they are discovered.

Well IE supports float but not correctly.

Amount doesn't matter if they don't operate correctly.

Aye Firefox ain't a bad browser, I used it a while before my opera stage.

Now I just can't browse properly with Firefox anymore, it's too slow and it doesn't have built in mouse gestures as well as other interesting features. (having an extension for it makes Fx even slower).

I'm surprised opera scores as high here though, as well as Fx' score. I think globally they're around 3% for opera and 11% for firefox.

Opera has:

A great community. 500 000 in comunity. http://my.opera.com/community/

It has widgets, a little irc client( if you really often use irc better mirc), a very practical email client M2( I use), Newsreader( I use too but obviosly there are better newsreader), a little bittorrent client(But I use utorrent or bitcomet).

You have mouse gestures. And you can modify then and you can create them.
You can download skins and you don't need to restart browser to use them. You can zoom the buttons skins.

You can get download menu layouts for opera.
You can create special buttons for opera and drop to opera.
You can get user javascript files to change webs, etc...
You can download mouse setups.
Opera can be controlled via voice(only english).
You can make opera talk web pages for you.
You can download keyboard setups for Opera. You can create them.
Opera have download to folder menu. ( Very useful it changes names to avoid overwrite).
You can enable/disable javascript/java/sound/plugins per web page basis.
You can restrict javascript functions.
Obviosly you can enable program sounds.
You can change how tabs are open or they open next to parent web page.

Opera makes a intensive use of panels(you can make a panel from every web page in internet using shift +f 11)

Panel contacts, irc, transfer, notes, mail, webs panels, search, widgets, history, links(you can see all links in current web).
And you can make a tab from every panel.

You can change layourt of buttons and hide whatever toolbar you want.
You can change show images or only cached images.
You can use fit to width option.
You can activate user css to read better a very ugly web.
You can block ads.
You can use wand. To remember passwords for you.

If you download Opera.
You need WEEKS to really undertand what Opera can do for you.
Download size: 4 MB.

By the way sometimes I use firefox. It have great things.
But I would need to download too many extensions.
Every some weeks I give firefox a try.

And Opera have some annoying things. You can really delete a bookmark from personal bar. Only delete from personal bar.

I've used opera for feckin' years, and I ain't even bothered with all that fancy arse crap. Its a browser, I browse with it, and it does a fine job at it to boot.

Lets face it, if it ain't default IE, it'll probably do you just fine. And if you've ever worried about security, consider not browsing ukranian fetish websites and clicking 'we require your credit details' from bob@fakebanksecurity.com in your email.

I never bothered to try opera, but what's the big deal with mouse gestures? I tried them in Litestep, it's fun for the first 5 minutes, then it becomes stupid. I don't wanna remember all these different movements to perform functions, when I could just as easily click on a button with text on it.

Anyway, I love Firefox, and I won't be changing any time soon. 8)

Ah the handy thing about mouse gestures is that you don't have to move your mouse all the way to the previous or next button, but you can just drag your right mouse button to the left or right.

I mainly use the drag left and drag right gestures for respectively back and forward. You could also use them to create new tabs or close them. You can even set a gesture for going to soldat forums, (as in, drag right mouse e.g.: up -> Down -> Left) and it would load soldat forums.

If you're interested in knowing what other features opera has I recommend checking this: http://www.opera.com/products/desktop/

Same thing here. I use Firefox, but only as a browser. Nothing else.

Hooray firefox! I would die if I didn't have the huge right click menu (copy image location, view image, copy link URL), tabs, the beautiful use of middle click (opens the link in a new tab, even if it's in a windows pop-up menu), or alpha PNG support. All of those things that IE doesn't have put it up there to the top.

My assumption is that, over time, FF will conquer IE in terms of soldatforums stats, and will eventually hit the 50% mark.
