New Game Mode.

Well, alot of people in the R/S community have grown tired of the repetitiveness of R/S.  So I got to thinking and thought up a new game mode.  I guess you could call it a mix between Survival and Deathmatch.  But basically, a server option would give each player only a certain amount of lives.  For example, 15.  And it's the same as a DM, except when your 15 lives are gone, you lose that round.  Winner is last man standing.

It's good thought, but I don't like lives. Then again it isn't only my opinion that matters. Good idea though. I like.

I support the idea. But with number of lives as a server option.

Something simple that can add greater variety to Soldat is good. Your idea is not bad.

So, you can change, when making a server:

1. Gamemode
2. Realistic/Survival/Advanced
3. Lives/Unlimited Lives

i acutally like this alot.  I think a Lives system is alot better for 1v1 situations (lets say for a clan or ladder or something) than the traditional "first to 20".  Also this way suicides play a factor in the game.  Great suggestion

Problem.

Campers and Hiders.

There would need to be a thing that if hidden for to long it reveals your location (like metroid prime hunters, if any of you have played it) and i don't think thats going to happen, making this gamemode near-useless.

AHEM.

It's a LIFES system. THEY WOULD BE A PROBLEM Becuase they can hide away from the fight while everyone else drains each other's lives then when it's slim they have all lives and the poor guy in the center has 3.

Good point. It would benefit if you camped or in any way stayed outta the fight... so if this ever was added it would be a Camper Deluxe gamemode. Sorry, but I wouldn't like that.

I would have to go with Cato and Toumaz on this one. Although I would support it, the thought of campers and hiders letting everyone else kill eachother off would be upsetting to see all hard work go to waste when a supposedly surprise enemy shows up to take the last round of your life.

If anything, there should be something to balance this by having such hiders and campers dying off automatically after remaining in one spot for a certain amount of time, like 30 sec or the average one would hide for in a realistic match of some sort. [If not this then something has to sub as a control for such a thing]

Another thing, so that too much more wouldn't have to be added to make this work, the number of deaths a person is allowd to experience before they are eliminated from the final one, like:

Total Deaths Til Done (1-50): 10

So when one player reaches their max, they are done.

If you grow tired of a gamemode SWITCH TO A DIFFERENT ONE.

We don't need more defunct gamemodes, play the ones that already exist.
