Ok,i decided not to get counter-strike 1.5 and get CS 1.6 with half-life and i got it hrough steam,but is CS 1.6 free or not?Cuz it said i had to pre-load it and i have to pay 9.95$ for it.Is this true?

If you buy a physical copy of half-life and use the cd-key to activate your steam account you will also get CS and DOD attached to your account. If you just buy it through steam you have to get it through their back-catalog.

CS 1.6 is not free, but if you're a Counter-Strike fan, it's definately worth the money, or just get CS Source.

If you have any serious CS playing friends then at least one of them will have a friend that sells cheap accounts. I can get a CS:S account for 75 kroons ($6).
But I guess that won't help you, because you don't have any friends.

Non-Steam CS can only be played in Non-Steam servers. And there aren't many of them.

I know, but he can download Non-Steam, try it, if he like it, he can get Steam one.
However if he will host a server, all players can come, Steam players, and Non-Steam players.

I hope you mean 1.5 by "non-steam". If you search for non-steam 1.6 you will encounter a flurry of scams and trojans for your steam account, not to mention non-steam 1.6 is illegal to begin with. Just a warning to any who are considering trying.
