@Yes: It's good to see another linux user. Nice background. But, why and how did you get IE6 working with ubuntu? Really, whats the point?

Empty your fucking recycle bin!

Ok here's my desktop: I didn't change anything, because software is like weekends, its better when you don't have to do anything.

click for full size.  This is on my laptop.  I wanted to use fluxbox on my laptop so that I could have a very fast interface and customize it as I wanted.  The eterm in the upper left and health stats in the lower left are "stuck" on the desktop, so that they're always behind everything and out of the way.  Both are extremely useful.

No, that is someone else I was talking to.

I don't know of any other operating system that can do things like this on the desktop.  I'm almost 100% certain that Windows can't, a Mac might be able to, and other window managers in Linux might be able to.  I doubt KDE or Gnome can without some heavy tweaking (like using some extra programs to gain this behavior).

I'm using Fluxbox on Linux (a stripped-down ubuntu install) and this feature is built in natively

It doesn't look like it, but I have a lot of files and programs on my PC.  I just don't like using Icons.  They make your desktop messy and unorganized.

@ds dude: Remove the Internet Explorer icon from your desktop, install Firefox, use it instead, and remove the other icons that you never use or find worthless. Maybe kill the Encarta ones, That Microsoft Office one in the 2nd column, Quicktime, AOL PC Checkup. and that Netscape thing?

Remove the Linkin Park folder, alt-ctrl-del, end explorer.exe and svchost.exe (all of them). Your computer will run much smoother afterwards.

Funny how the CC and Soldat icons are right next to each other... kind of like rivals... kind of.

eww. why on earth would you want to have a terminal?

You don't even need a password for ubuntu, nobody can use it as it is.
