Red Pixel
« on: October 20, 2006, 07:07:43 pm »
The Red pixel.

Well basicly the 100% green color is transparent, but adding a single 100% red pixel in the image would make that the gun would be centred and moved to the hands, so red pixel in the gun image = center sortof... ok I admit it, my post is weird. Need sleep.

it whon't be visible, you put the red pixel somewhere in the green area, or so, it acts like green , but also sets the center

I like this idea, it took me like a minute to realize what he was talking about, basically he means intead of the automatic positioning the red dot centers it.

<resize or sth-ing?> ??

I couldn't put my ini file on stick in the center on both sides. It's because it wasn't standard size

This would be cool, but instead of red make it a less-used color.. gybe, pink.

Ahh, I see what you're saying. A good idea and all, but not likely to happen at all.

Besides which, if it were possible, who wants a red pixel dead center on every gun...?

the color would be an exact color like ghe green is 00,FF,00.

Zero72: wouldnt see it in game.. (could use the color 1 px to the left or whatever).

I like this Idea alot :)

Well , then have a seperate green bmp the same image size as the gun, and name it mp5-pos.bmp for example ?

No. Rather, have position coordinates for the weapon in weapons.INI. :)

No. Rather, have position coordinates for the weapon in weapons.INI. :)

Was just about to say this myself.
Although it might seem a bit more cumbersome in that the center information is in a separate file it's still a better solution in that it can't interfer with the graphics.  Although the "green screen" concept (as used with graphics in soldat) also has the disadvantage in that you cannot have the actual green color as a color in the game (although the next closest hue should suffice), it's a method that has been adopted throughout all graphics-effects-containing industries, such as movie making, game designing, etc.  The red-dot is a bit too far.  weapons.ini works fine - hopefully everyone also understands why a weapon.ini is a bad idea for defining background.
Can't think of anything original to put here...

Well as long as I know Soldat is rarly updated and all I've seen changing a lot is just more levels better graphics and less bugs ,...therefore i guess this section is useless?
