Civilization?
« on: October 22, 2006, 08:45:54 pm »
What civilization are we apart of? I'm pretty confused right now.

Is each country a civilization? Or would Canada be apart of the "British Empire"?

Yes.  It is.

Anyway, first off, Cananda is not part of the British empire.

Second, A civilization is essentially a group of people that share the same culture, history, and nationality.  With a few exceptions, every country that defines themselves a seperate nation is their own civilization.

We are independent of Britain but the Queen is still our head of state.

to answer his question, our civilization is often referred to as "human civilization," referring to the entire world's human population.  It can be used within smaller scopes, like "ancient civilization" (adding a time qualifier), or geographical constraints.

Is the United States one of those exceptions?  Because we definitely don't all share the same culture or nationality.

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

No duh, I know were seperate, be were still commonwealth.

So would china be a different civilization from the United States, because of there different cultural backrounds, and way there government is organized......

I just didn't see us as a world civilization seeing as were all seperate countries.

omg.just omg.sorry man,but this is sad.how old are you?

That was cute Mr. I have a big problem with a girlfriend over a forum who I've never met before.
