Post more. Thats basically it. People will rate you with karma, you yourself can't change yours. You can applaud or smite other people when you hit 25 posts.

I think when you post more, the higher number of star and tags you get. Karma is a little bit so-so. People can either raise or deduce your karma points for any random reason what so ever. Like the guy above, you need at least 25 posts to be able to add/decrease other's karma.
