non-standard-problem
« on: October 24, 2006, 11:02:22 am »
hi!

the point is the following:
i live in a student house and my landlord offers an internet connection for cheap but there is one problem: from 8.00-23.00 the ports on the router are closed because there where problems with people using emule and stuff too much so that the other students had a slow connection. now filesharing is only possible from 23.00.
but with the ports closed i am not able anymore to connect to soldat servers... (not upload to ftp and other things)

there are some ports open for icq and stuff, but as far as i know soldat needs two ports of which one is not changeable...

it would be enough for me to connect to the server of one of my friends..

is there any possibility for my friend to configure the server so that i can play with him before 23.00???

thanks alot for your help!!

You should be able to connect to all servers and play everything just fine unless your landlord has blocked outgoing connections on all nonstandard ports too.  If that is the case, ask him to open:

13073 TCP and UDP (EnEsCe can say which of these is really necessary) - to access the lobby list
23073 UDP - to join games
23083 TCP - to download maps from servers

Then you're out of luck, my friend. Too bad.
