When i try to open dedicated server 2.5.2, it closes itself. It only flashes in the screen. Help?

I only messed with 2.5.2 for like 3 days after it came out. The only 2 reasons it did that to me is either because another window from the same program was open or the was an error in compiling the optional extra code. Read your logs, it usually helps.

Turn off the scripting for a start. And I'm not too sure if that is a valid mapname either.

Your going to have to wait for the one who developed the server to get on. I have no idea.

Run the server from a command prompt; it provides extra non-logged information. Paste that here.

(Start -> Run... "cmd" -> cd D:\Asennetut pelit\Soldat\ -> soldatserver)

Read the buffer sent to the screen, not everything is sent to the logs. The error is usually reported in between the server normal messages.

if he doesn't run it from the command prompt, but rather he just double-clicks the executable... does it stay open or does it just flash on the screen like he's describing (and like at least the old versions used to)?

But yeah, its probably an issue with your maps.

It just flashes on the screen. Hence why I told him to run it from command prompt, so he can actually read it.

I had the same errors on my servers, as you can read here:

it happened with scriping disabled, standard maps and the same settings. the only diference between your errors and mine is that mine came after a long time (a few hours). yours seem to happen instantly..

only thing that worked was downgrading them.

edit: ctf___k_1st_v2 is a normal (climb)map, that shouldnt be the problem.

It just flashes on the screen. Hence why I told him to run it from command prompt, so he can actually read it.

That cmd didnt work, it says the directory or file cannot be created. Help?

Alright, do it like this:

1. Start -> Run...
2. Write "cmd" without the quotes.
3. Write "D:" without the quotes and press enter.
4. Write "cd Asennetut pelit\Soldat\" without the quotes and press enter.
5. Write "soldatserver" without the quotes and press enter.

Whoops, forgot that you need to use the /D switch to change drive with CD: "cd /D D:\Asennetut pelit\Soldat\". What Toumaz posted will work though.
