Run the server from a command prompt; it provides extra non-logged information. Paste that here.

(Start -> Run... "cmd" -> cd D:\Asennetut pelit\Soldat\ -> soldatserver)

if he doesn't run it from the command prompt, but rather he just double-clicks the executable... does it stay open or does it just flash on the screen like he's describing (and like at least the old versions used to)?

chris, I was asking you a general question about whether or not (under normal working conditions) the soldatserver.exe on windows will stay open if you just double-click it, or whether it needs to be opened from an already-open prompt.  I know that his flashes ;)

Oh, yes, under normal conditions it will run fine from double clicking it.
