Melee Damage

I didnt really know where to put this but why does melee deal so little, in most games, it kills in one hit. I know this is far from most games but it takes awhile to kill people with it, so what are your thoughts on more damage?

Not one hit, that would be a little too much.  50% of health at most.

It would be cool if you could catch knives while empty-handed.

then dodgeball would be about impossible :P

But ya, i think it would be cool if the fist did a little more....maybe 50% is a bit much....i dunno
Your acting like your having a duel and your opponent gets a pistol and you get a spork.
Isn't that pretty much what it is? I dunno wtf a spork is, I suppose it's way weaker than the pistol since you compared that to this.

Yeah, melee attacks should either do more damage or some kind of stun effect. It's annoying to stand right next to someone, beat them silly for about ten seconds, then have his gun reloaded and shoot me. I think you should also disarm the enemy on the first punch. Right now it seems like a random element.

Leave it as is.  If you want to kill someone in melee, hold a knife and stab with it.  Melee disarms, and IMO, that's enough.

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.

This was more just to see what people would say, but think about it, bashing people with your gun. Its not like you melee much either unless you are trying, just a little more, like ever quarter life, would be better thatn standing there for 3-4 secs bashing someone's head in.

I like the idea, because of course in things like medal of honor, and halo, bashing can kill a person in one hit. Only issue i can see with making the bashing stronger is that if it were a one hit kill, the knife stabbing and chainsaw would kinda be thrown off balance when you can bash someone to get the same one hit kill that knives and chainsaws were made for.

Although a slight boost in damage couldnt hurt the weapons too much. Maybe like the same damage as deagles or a ruger.

Catching knives would be cool, but to make it actually require a talent other than just being emptyhanded, you should have to press the "throw weapon" button simultaneously while getting hit with it.

That's true, the saw is the crowbar of Soldat in a way, though it even doesn't technically offer an instant kill. I know I just get annoyed with the knife's stabbing motion because the few times I try it often results in a melee attack instead. I suppose the answer would just be to practice stabbing and really learning the limits of its hit range, but it's so rare that I do it that I never bother to.

Punching an enemy makes them drop their weapon, should make them significantly more easy to kill  :D, melee is fine as it is.

the fact that the melee meaks the enemy drops the weapon meaks it good.

The fact that no one uses melee intentionally is a problem that needs to be fixed.

If i get close enough to someone, ill use it intentionally, espically if they are on the ground and reloading, ill run up and fist them to death or atleast disarm them.
Not to mention when you kill someone with the fists, you can yell out, "FISTED", and be happy :)

The problem with meelee i hate is the fact that due to lag, there are times when you are "hitting" a person and you really arent "hitting" them, cause they are actually a little bit away from where they appear to be. I belive that once the major lag issues are fixed, everyone will have a different perspective on the weapons. As for now, Lets not fuk with the weapons too much.

Also, fists should instantly disarm, I have been sitting there punching them for a few seconds, they never shoot their gun, then they do and I die.

why does melee deal so little, in most games, it kills in one hit.

Thats what the saw is for ;)

But for fists, I do think they should have a higher disarm chance.

Isn't it the bigger weapon you have, the more damage with melee?
And also, melee is a one shot kill in R,I think they should do a disarm,THEN damage.

Yeah, saw and knife are for instant kills, buttstock bashing is the equivalent of just punching him with your fists. Has anyone here tried to fist bots? Their impossible!

You know, I really like the secondary i heard jokingly somewhere in the forums, bayonet as a secondary, causes insta kill melee damage.  Close range gun (spas and mp5) users could pick it because they are up close and, coincidentally, have fast enough reload to go without a secondary.
When you actually switch to the secondary while you are carrying the bayonet, you hold the detached blade and can toss it to the ground.

It would never happen, but i like the idea.
Without originality society is doomed.
