Ok well, there is no real place for this sort of stuff.....  But I wanna share this with all the people who enjoy playing against bots or who run servers as an alternative to the lag-o-matic minigun.  I especially think this would be an awesome addition to the Leo's realistic servers.

I'll give step by step on how people can do this, server side and player side.

First server side, cause what good is player side without this?

Ok, first you need to copy this down: (setting damage to 0 will use the LAW damage because it uses the LAW bullet.)
[XM214 Minigun]
Damage=0
FireInterval=100
Ammo=10
ReloadTime=340
Speed=320
BulletStyle=12
StartUpTime=28
Bink=20
MovementAcc=5

Next go into your C drive, then go to your soldat folder.  Scroll down until you see a file called weapons.ini  Ok, now, create a new folder and name it "Orig Config".  Take the weapons.ini file and copy it into the "Orig Config" folder.  That will be your backup.  Also, move the weapons121.ini into that folder, MOVE, not copy.


Awesome, now, go into your weapons.ini file by double clicking, and scroll down until you see the entry for the XM214 Minigun.  Select it ALL and paste what I posted above over it.  There's the rocket launcher...wait, it still says XM214 Minigun when we play! D=  time for some player side modification!




Ok, now for the player side. (Warning, the minigun's name will be changed in the whole game.)

Copy this:  Multi-Rocket Gun

Ok, now go back into your soldat folder.  Click on the folder "Txt".  In there you'll find the weapon names and default files.


Ok so, go into "weaponnames" and replace the Minigun with Multi-Rocket Gun.  Now go into "weaponnames-default" and do the same as in the previous file.  Then go back a folder and enter the file called "default".  press Ctrrl+F and type in Minigun,  replace it with Multi-Rocket Gun.




Guess what?!?!  ALL DONE!!!!  Well, here are shots of the server and player side modification together.  Hope you enjoy it!

MINIGUN RL MOD!


Hey, I made a server/player side mod out of this, I also changed the minigun skin, the firing and reloading sound, plus I changed out the interface graphic as well.

Credits:
Weapon skin - Quake mod
Sounds - Quake mod and Knife Blaster barrett
weapons.ini and interface changes - ME!
Coming up with the idea - ME!

Directions:  download Minigun RL.rar from below.  Make backups of the Txt, Interface gfx, Weapons gfx folder, and the weapons.ini file.  Extract straight into the soldat directory, and ENJOY!

Note:  It will still act as a normal minigun on servers without this mod.  This is mostly just fun to mess around with.  Also.....anyone know how to contact the owner of the Leo's realistic servers?  I want him to try the minigun mod in his server to see if people would like it in there or not.

Ok, the compilation mod....  It's a few weapons that I like which I've thrown into a small mod.

You turned the most underpowered weapons into the most overpowered. Great Job!

I suppose this could be useful for learning how to mod weapons.ini's in Soldat. A little more elaboration on certain parts of the weapons.ini and this could be a good tutorial.

Y'know, it's too bad there's no way to load weapons in-game.

...oh wait, it's /loadwep xxx to load xxx.ini.

Still, you really know how to make a tutorial.

Thank you for the comments.  I'm good at explaining different situations and methods to friends and other classmates at school too.

As for your comment Mistercharles, don't knock it until you have used the weapon.  The damage is high I know, but I'm to lazy to adjust it just right so what it's at works.  The reload time and the fire interval help even it out, the 10 bullet limitation could be brought down further, but I've had the most good reviews with the setup its at now.  Oh, and the movement accuracy and bink help take it down even farther to level it out.  Just to let you know, on a zombie server, you can still get raped even when using this!

I did this for three reasons...1: to help people understand how to mod the weapons.ini and the interface names.  2: because this weapons is actually alot of fun when implemented in a realistic server, or a zombie mod server.  and 3: anyone know how to contact the owner of the realistic Leo's servers?  I want him to try this out in his servers for a day or two and see what people think.  I bet it would be awesome! =D

About the damage, to the best of my knowledge, it uses the M72 LAW's damage, but I'm not sure, try setting the damage to 0 on your Minigun RL, and see if it still kills 'im.

Yeah, if you do want to change rocket damage though, just mess with the M72 Law's damage, otherwise it'll be default.

To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

I don't get alot of time online...or even on my cpu for that matter.  But I'm gonna continue with the compilation mod until I've changed all the weapons.  Heh, this will be fun.
