A Qustion About My Sig

1. Resized the image
2. Changed it to indexed colour mode
3. Saved as a .png


Or is there some other, better, easier way to preserve bacground transparency?

I use PS 8.0 btw.

The "white" lines aren't white at all. They're antialiased pixels (at least the ones around the flag/person etc, not sure about the ones across the top and bottom), and they are actually light grey, which explains why they're not transparent. You could remove them by hand, but the image may look pixelated around the edges.
  You may or may not be able to smooth the edges by applying a light shadow. I'm not sure, because I don't know much about shadow and transparency. But if you can, it would be sweet if you could do it for my sig too.

Thinking about what I did though...  The angry black guy was on a very uncontrasting background.  I had to erase by had, maybe I just erase all the lines completely?  Or sumthin???

But yeah, the knife is awesome.  T'will be done.

If the flag image had a white background to begin with, you could've just set a color value to alpha, or set a smooth alpha around the border with white as the base, and superimposed it atop the main image.
