Weapon stealing
« on: June 17, 2006, 07:15:52 pm »
It would be so cool if you could steal others weapons by sneaking behind them.  Just like using your fists to knock a gun out of someones hand but It ends up in yours instantly.  To make it rare the person with the gun would have to be standing still and you would have to come from behind, (obviously this could only really be done in realistic mode)  I would love to be able to take out campers this way,  ;D

Well, yeah I guess. Every small thing counts. Of course, I wouldn't want it to give me their weapon if I was already holding one.

I am in favour of this notion, mainly because it is cool and it adds more point to sneaking up behind ppl in realistic other than catching them by surprise.

when you run up to someone and surprise them... it's the same as sneaking up.

so.. uhh, ya, just use the fists

To be fair, if I felt like sneaking up on campers in realistic mode, I'd just knife them and then steal their weapon. Seems pretty pointless to be honest.

You can fist the weapon out of somebody's hands and pick it up easily enough as it is.

i like this idea...  Punching as it is is weak enough (in its function) - instead of just dropping the weapon, it would make more sense if you could steal it and make it yours instantly!
Can't think of anything original to put here...

This sounds pretty pointless to me, how many times have you even had a chance to sneak up "unoticed" it's not like a FPS where you can only see what your player see's.

And I still dont understand why Michal got rid of a realistic system that kept the exact same number of bullets in the gun when it was dropped to having to reload it. It's a big step back and I don't get it

Yeah, seems pointless. Unlike a game that's 3D, like Counter-Strike, it's very hard to sneak up behind a player without them noticing you. Even if you manage to sneak up somehow you'd be better off shooting them from afar than running up and trying to punch them.

It was taken out to prevent reload exploits on the Law and such.

Pointless. If you want to take that stat. gunner's weapon, stab 'im with your Knife and replace it with the corpse's.
