In-game text.
« on: November 12, 2006, 10:03:51 pm »
I was wondering how I would go about changing some of the in-game text. I've noticed some mods change some of the team names, and menu options, but when I try to mess with it, the whole thing goes to hell. Is there something I'm not doing? I'd really like to know.

I know what the file is, I'm sorry I didn't already say that. I've tried looking at some of the lines that some other mods have messed with, and tried that, but it still won't work. I'm confused as to what to do.

First off, make sure you only use notepad.
Second, don't add any extra enters/lines.
Example:
Blah blah game mode text
Modified (good way):
blah blah robot fight text
Modified (bad way):
blah blah robot
fight text blah more words

That's all I can think of right now.

Notepad may mess up lines if word wrap is on. As far as I know, TextPad doesn't have this problem. If you're looking for random stuff that FLAB would approve of, try jEdit, Notepad++ or something from this page.
