Is google going to monopolize the internet search engine and video thing. I think they are on their way.
What do you think?
and is it a good or bad thing or does it really matter?

Well they have conquered searching pretty much, but they still always need to keep updating it. I think there video.google.com is doing pretty good. I know search is number one, and google video is in top 5 I think. But I think once they make there videos embeddable to myspace and other type things easily, it will become very popular. Maybe even more than youtube.com if they do things right. But I doubt they will ever make an operating system so there goes the anti Microsoft. But they seem to be trying to influence people to use firefox, and don't they support linux distros too? I think they just want to eliminate Microsofts market share so it less than 50%.

Google owns Youtube.....BUT THEY TOOK ALL THE NGE EPISODES OFF OF IT, NOOOOOOO!!!111111eeeelevan

I bet one day Google will become richer then Microsoft.

Microsoft has already pissed their pants they are soo scared of google.

Yes google has done better then anyone else when it comes to search engines. They didn't step on anyone to do that either. They just had superior coding skillz.

There was roomer google was making their own OS a while back. If they do then Microsoft will be wiped off the map. Google invested in so many new technologies a while ago. I would no be surprised if they pulled something out of their collective asses that posed even a greater threat to Microsoft.

A Google OS might be interesting, but they would probably end up monopolizing like Microsoft has.  It may be a nice OS if they made one, but Linux is still open-source. :)

Well, seriously, I've got nothing against Google. I mean, they've served us with great stuff like GMail, Google Earth, and the Google search engine all for free. What's a little plan of world domination to that?

Wikipedia isn't a publicly traded company. It can't be bought out.

Being traded only applies to being able to buy shares of a company. Google can still buy the ownership rights to a site and its holdings just as it did with Deja.

I've seen some articles and shows about the company itself. They're awesome, the workers work in perfect conditions, they have their own gym and swimming pool and crap.

Yeah, google is an example of a company that does everything right(well, 99% of the things). Google is an awesome company, they care for their workers, they encourage creativity, like damn, if I wasn't sick of computer I'd get a job there just for the gym.
