Sounds?
« on: November 16, 2006, 09:44:08 pm »
Hey everybody, i need some help.  Im looking for some new sounds, and i figure BF2 would be the place to get em.  I have the game, but i need help on how to convert them into wav, or even open the sound files themselves, so i can see all of the sound effects, not just something that runs them.  It would be a great help if anyone could help me get these sounds, thanks alot.

Alright, this is the way you do it.

  • Go to your Battlefield 2 folder (default: C:\Program files\EA Games\Battlefield 2).
  • Open the Mods folder and next on the bf2 folder.
  • Here you can find the sound files inside those .zip files. Try looking inside Common_client.zip and Objects_client.zip for weapon sounds.
  • Extract the sounds you fancy, and if you need to (if the files are OGG files) then open them in an audio editor to convert them into WAV files. A good example of a free such is Audacity or the shareware program Goldwave, which I find to be a lot easier to use.

If you need further help, just write me a line or something.
