Woo, played a bit today and it was fun. I hope there will be an euro server for Soldatforums one day.

Can't really comment on balance since I didn't play with many weapons and only played briefly.

I found the automatic weapons unused. The only weapons people used a lot were the Barret, SPAS, Ruger and M79.

Cool server, though I'd like to suggest a few things;

- The limits are pretty weird, too little caps and too much time. Maybe compromise it by a timelimit of 15 with a cap limit of 10, or both limits to ten?

- Four nades leave room for serious nadespam, though until that's a problem it could stay as it is.
- The map rotation is poor? I think not every default map is on the server, which is a nono. I want nuubia dammit!

Did you read my first post?  I said that I just threw some maps on there for now and plan to have the rotation eventually be mostly custom maps once people recommend them.

- Maybe have a TS/Vent server, with it's address sent in the server message? Some serious fun that'd be!

Alright, everyone should be voicing their opinions on suggested maps so that I don't just randomly have to choose ones that I think are decent

This is what the weapon balance discussion forums are now for.  This WM is pulled right from the one in the sticky for that forum.  Voice your opinions there and perhaps we'll see changes made

I say give the minimi a bit more power(Not too much but at least don't make it weaker then it was) Give the ruger some bink, slow down the law a good amount. Those are the only major changes needed.

ya the aug is fine, but AK and minimi have reduced damage if i remember correctly

I was playing last night and a fair amount of people were using autos.  I think the autos are in a good position in the balance in this server so far and I think that people should play 5 or 6 times in there with different people to really see what they notice about weapon usage, not just once.  People don't always play with certain weapons because they think they're powerful... a lot of people just have preferences for which weapons they like (like me)

I added ruins but had to take ctf_taurus out because it causes everyone to have very low FPS (mine dropped from 50 to 30, just about everyone else saw a similar result)

I'll talk with Avarax about it, if he uses .png sceneries instead of .bmp, it won't lag for you guys with prehistoric graphic cards. Taurus freakin' owns. ¬_¬

maybe set the grenade limit to 3? because when its crowded there's to many grenades flying around.

Anyway, this server rules. Only people who come here (about 25% of the Soldat population?) will know how to get in, so it filters out all of the complete idiots.

I played on the server for a bit today, and it was pretty fun. I didn't experiment with the weapons enough to really comment on them yet though. I'll be able to give my opinion once I've played there some more.

even less, I'd say only 10% of the Soldat players around the world come to these forums.  Maybe 5-10% of the people registered here will play on that server, at first right away

Suggestion: have !players / !info commands work on the #soldat.forums channel, so it shows who's in the server, what map is playing etc. Would help in getting some games rollin', eh?

I really, really wanted to play in that server, but since it uses original maps, I can't.
Because my soldat has a annoying bug, that whenever I enter in servers that use original maps, the game takes me out of the server and then I get the message: "wrong map version detected". I don't even change the maps with mapmakers.

Redownload the full package of the latest Soldat version, I bet it'd fix it.

Also a silly suggestion: Set the points for capture thingy to 0 to keep it fun and encourage teamwork a tidbit more.
