[request] Mappack maker
« on: November 23, 2006, 08:33:14 am »
Hi, there are so many map-pack tools but none of them can pack multiple maps, which is really a shame!
Im releasing mappacks myself on a regular base, and it would save me a lot of time if i could just select all the maps and pack in in RAR and/or ZIP format.

some neat features would be:
- Compile missing file list (sceneries/textures) and which maps are affected by those missing files
- .. something i forgot now but will think of later

i already asked some of the current mappack-tool makers to make this multiple-mappack option, they all said they would, but none of them did :P

Yes, i have used that program but i get a LOT of bugs. i went to VTT with this problem, and he said the new version would be released very soon.
we are several months later now and no sign of his update..

Maybe the thing you forgot in your original post is to check if multiple maps have sceneries or textures/edges with the same names? (this is a problem obviously only if they're expecting different files with the same name)  The problem with detecting this is that... you can't tell whether they're expecting the same file or something different.
