A public server with a simple panel where you can upload your maps and after uploaded, it gets added to the current server rotation. Just want to know what you guys think before coding it.

This is a very good idea indeed.  Most map creators don't have a dedicated server to play their maps, which is a shame.  This would be a great way for people to actually try their custom maps with others.  I'd say verifying the quality of maps submitted would be a good idea for this to be successful.

I've been developing something similar with a few people, although it functions slightly different. It involves a map submission site and as a feature of the site, an IRC bot that can communicate with the site and dedicated Soldat server.  Using the bot allows users to upload their maps and scenery from the site to the Soldat server, and modify the mapslist of the game mode their map is designed for, if verified by an admin in the channel.

Edit: Take two : it sucks. You appear to have some sort of script that prevents anything from spawning correctly, probably stemming from the fact that you allow non-ctf maps to be played there too Incredible idea, and one worth improving, but for now please keep it a 'private' beta

"I'm testing my map!" "No, I'm testing my map!" Possible constant map changes, cries of the map version bug, fighting over what mode to play in (assuming this is one server and not six)... It's a wonderful idea on paper, but I don't see it working well in practice. Depends on how popular it gets I suppose.

Needs sceneries available. Missing sceneries are probably what gets overlooked the most from my experience.
