Monitor problems
« on: June 20, 2006, 12:13:38 am »
Ok as some of you know i have a dual monitor setup, but then i try to launch a game in fullscreen mode like soldat it will sometimes revert to single a single screen and i will have to mess with it a little to get back how its suppose to be then it works right... any thoughts on why this happens?

This might of happened to me before, I'm not really sure because I'm not using my dual screen setup atm. :(

Anyway, in soldat config, in the graphics tab it asks you what video adapter you want to use. It'll probably have default (which you probably have selected now) as well as the name of your video card. I'm not 100% sure but it might have your graphics card listed twice, with maybe a (1) after the first one and a (2) after the second one. If it has this change it to the (1) one so soldat will display on your primary monitor.

I'm really not sure if that'll work, but hopefully it helps. :)

I've never found a way around this, I just accepted that windows was grumpy about when games only wanted one screen... so I stopped using windows :-/

I use windows with games and it works niccccccly. Does soldat work on Linux?? lol, jw... well n/m. Im guessing it does since now that im thinking, im remembering the enesce uses Linux to host servers. and so does chibi, selfkil etcccc
I decided to remove my signature, since jrgp was picking on me by sending me annoying PM's. - Chrono, Wednesday July 27, 2007

we're specifically talking about dual monitor setups having problems with games, not windows in general

Usually depends on the software that goes with the video cards.

It looks like nVidia provides a program, called nView, that should allow you to get things working the way you want.

If nothing else worls you could temporarily disconnect the second monitor while playing soldat.
There are other worlds than these
