this is a whine thread and a whine thread only.. *got no place to whine to so i'm just spitting this crap about on several forums i'm registered on.

anywho, i'm going to be locked up in jail soon.
i'm a fugitive from the army now for about a month now.

..the reason i ran away is 'cause nobody was willing to transfer me into some real cool job that actually contributes in some way.. noooop.. they stuck me up on a goddamn submarine as a damage controll staff person.

..WHICH IS a complete BORE.
the only thing remotely dangerous is medium sized squids in the deep waters.

anyway, i've got a really good result on some army test resembling an IQ test and my physical profile is 97, which is the highest profile in the IDF. why in the world am i doing this utterly useless job then?

i've talked to everyone who's directly responsible for me, if it's my commanders, their commanders (officers), the base commander and whatnot.. nobody's willing to transfer me into something more interesting like Special Forces unit or Golani or whatever. the reason is that my father passed away, and i've got no brothers, so the army needs my mother's authorization if it wants to put me in something combat-related. naturally my mother refuses to sign in fear of losing me in combat or whatever, so i get to stay in the submarine unit.

anywho i simply didn't return to base after my latest vacation home, so now i'm a fugitive. turning myself in next sunday.
i'm gonna be in for about 2 months, and i have no clue what's prison like.

anyone got any tips for me?

I never dared to think about jail, so I really can't give advice. I had an ex-friend who went to jail. She said it sucked, but wasn't AS BAD as most people say.

Sorry to hear this my friend, but I hope two months is all they give you, I miss talking to you on IRC.

Just follow the rules in jail and whatnot and don't do anything stupid in there. Best of luck to you.

yea, in order to do something ALOT MORE USEFULL.

point was, even if my whole crew will turn it's back, nothing will ever change. we don't get to do anything at all, just some random "patrols" which are actually test runs for various diesel engines. there's no risk at all and if there's a war, we won't get to participate.

anywho you're pretty right but there's a paradox here.. i'm running away just so i could get accepted to something better. there's a rule in the IDF saying once you've entered jail you'll never come back to the same force you served in. plus, there's a form called form 55 that i could apply in jail, this form's purpose is to transfer me into another unit as fast as possible.

my main point is that even tho i ditched my "duties", it's for a higher cause, to actually do something and risk my life for the country instead of just screwing around, not just 'cause i'm bored. if i wanted to leave the army i'd use the fact that my father passed away and i've got no brothers, the army bearly accepts people in my situation.
