Bad, no. They exist to imply emphasis, and that's lost when you use them all of the time. Using them when the meaning is lost shows you have a bad vocabulary!

If they exist to imply emphasis then the words Great! or Super! should be vulgar too, according to what you're saying. I'm through arguing, we're getting no where. These arguements never do. Not necessarily. Profanity is often used in casual conversation. "**** yes." "That was ****ing hilarious." "That test was ****ing hard." And of course, who can forget the ever popular "WTF"? I don't think that most people who swear are really that angry, at least not in our age group.

"What the fuck?" though, that's expressing surprise. You can't really substitute the noun for anything else due to not knowing what it is, see?
