Soldat SuperKit Project
« on: December 13, 2006, 07:55:19 am »
Hello, i want to make an application that connects all help, tools and ressources from the internet, forums and manuals into one big program. I made a detailled project file, please read if interested.

Description:

What we are going to do is a program with very good design elements, like buttons which have gradients, background gradients, (little) animations and more.

Microsoft published Framework 3.0 some weeks ago, and this is the perfect environment for us. We would also need (= would be nice if you could download, its free and small) Microsoft Expression Interactive Designer from Microsoft, which supports FrmWork 3.0.

Of course you can stay designer only, and not become a coder, but coding in this project isn’t really hard, almost equals 0, and the most we’ll need to do is to design.

Now to the program itself. The program will be a collection of all (= major) Soldat 3rd party applications (like Soldat Mapmaker aso.), the best mods and support and help files. It’s up to you if we will simply link the files (to an internet site, which option I NOT prefer), or (better, although bigger file) include the files itself into our file (it’s also easier and you don’t get broken links then).

Hmm, any idea what to write here?

So... basically you say that you're going to create an ultramega all-in-one application pack with a frontend system? Well... might be good for 'em newbies, but people who really know what to do and how will probably do it the proper/hard way instead.

Minor note, you tell me you are going to include Soldat Mapmaker? The best map editor out there is Soldat Polyworks if you haven't noticed already.

You really need to concentrate on a smaller population too. Is this a program for those who wants to set up their own server? To make their own maps/interfaces? To find a nice mod to use? Wait, for everything? It all seems to clash a bit...

And fix your friggin' signature already

i think its mainly for newbs at the beginning, and sure ill include polyworks, just says mapmaker, and polyworks is a mapmaker too.

i indeed want to make it for everything, as u said.

(ill fix my sign, sry :P)

It's not a bad idea for the newbs, hopefully it reduces the repetitive 'how can i do this' posts.

BTW I thought animated sigs weren't allowed.

we have 2 ppl (3 with me now), optiplex and ivarska, i dunno if to wait for more or just start, i think ill just start with you,

btw, we wont program it in framework 3 but 2, coz no1 has 3, neither the devs nor the community, only vista users and microsoft download page users can have it right now, more detaills when we start. (and we start NOW, or wait for 1 or 2 ppl more)

I'm moving in three weeks, but I can still help with the graphics. I have a bit of skill with photoshop, so maybe I could be of use.
PM me.
