ESC no longer works

Hi all,

My Escape key no longer works during the game. I have tried deleting (including the complete Soldat folder) and reinstalling.

It all started when I was playing on a server and we vote kicked a player for hacking. They rejoined after a while and immediately after they did I got an error saying that I had an invalid texture and was banned from the server. More than a week has passed and the server no longer appears on the listings. I'm not sure if it is just me that is unable to see it, or if the server was taken off line at the same time. I can't remember the name of the server, but it seemed to be a dedicated server. I had been playing it for a few days before this incident occurred.

Since that day ESC no longer brings up the menu during games. Also when I tried to delete the Soldat folder during uninstall, the Textures folder refused to be deleted, even after the I had closed the game (even several hours afterwards). Rebooting resolved this however.

Never heard of this before, maybe your ESC key is broke?

nah, this happends to me when ingame, the esc and other keys don't work and every 3 seconds I hear the Windows Error Sound, it pisses me off and I just close and re-open soldat then it gets back to normal.

Maybe its something to do with your computer and not soldat ???

Do you have a wireless keyboard?  Sometimes certain keys don't work with mine, but I've had this problem before with a regular keyboard as well.

Nope i'm not using a wireless keyboard. This had been happening for a couple of weeks as I mentioned in my first post. It didn't matter which servers I joined, once I was in I had to Ctrl + Alt + Del to get out of the game after that.

Just after I posted the other day I went through all the menus and the setup looking for key mappings, thinking that I might be able to remap the key. I hosted my own game and to my surprise found that escape worked again. It works on all the other servers now as well. I'm not sure exactly what fixed it, but I'm not complaining :)

Haha yeah, what ever works. Glad none of that happened to me. After a while I do not develop the patience to deal with such things lmao.
