I-tunes music into soldat
« on: December 18, 2006, 08:04:48 pm »
I put my i-tunes music in the right soldat folder, but it doesnt work.  i think i-tunes music is in mp4, or something like that.  Does anyone know a way i could get my music into soldat-useable form?  (I can burn cds from i-tunes if necessary, but i don't want to buy napster or any crud like that)

Go download a program able to open that file type and then resave them as normal MP3:s. I don't really think it is MP4 though, that's a video format.

Just to go Google and search for "[insert file extension here] mp3 converter", that should do it.

After you follow Toumaz's advice.^^

You might need this program to get a playlist for the music. http://archive.forums.soldat.pl/topic.php?topic_id=20486

Itunes by default uses the protected AAC(or ACC, can't remember) format. Neither can be played with soldat and because the format it is protected, cannot be converted to mp3 by any program but iTunes, which doesn't let you go from aac/acc to mp3.

After a bit of digging - I had the very same problem - I found this program called iTunes Export.  It's a very simple, no-nonsense kind of program.

Download "UI Application - iTunesExport.UI-1.0.3.zip ", extract, and enjoy!  ;D

mpg4 is apple's way of saying, WE ARE GONNA FUCK EVERYTHING UP.

I found out that when you just burn the cd with itunes and then rip it with windows media player, it will be converted, but that can be a bitch when you want all your songs mp3s

Yeah, that seems to be the only way of getting an mp3 of apples music.

But when you rip a cd like that, it degrades the quality horribly.

I never had a quality problem, seriously i had to move a bunch of songs to mp3 and it worked fine, no loss. it was a long time ago, when itunes had bugs and exploits that nobody knew about because nobody gives a flying shit about apple

If you give me your address, i'll send u 9$ too.  gosh, i tried doing a bunch of complicated stuff that i half-understood like burning to a cd and downloading with windows media player and nothing worked.  all i had to do with your program is point and click.  *applauds*  *keeps on clicking on applaud, even though it tells him he must wait 72 hours*
