Invisible polygon
« on: December 22, 2006, 06:17:48 am »

Is it possible to make a invisible polygon?

Untexture a polygon and set it with that kind of greenĀ  that makes transparency.

Or  a polygon the same colour background map.

I don't think the untextured green thing works, but you could try one of these:
1. Use the Reverse Visiibility (^R) thingey in PW
2. Just as you thought, untexture and color it the same way the background is
3. Wait for the next version of Soldat (which has alpha polygons)

Doesn't 1 do 2? :P I thought 1 detects the BG colors in coordination with the polygon's position and auto-colors it similarly.

EDIT But yeah, Soldat will have alpha-transparency capability for polygons. Something Anna discovered while digging through the .PMS format (it's not a change in the file format, it was just never exploited, so the rule in The Official Suggestions Sticky regarding no new map abilities still applies)...

If you have the latest PW version you'll notice that when you select a polygon, an opacity % appears in the properties window. The palette window's opacity also now affects created polygons.

btw that reverse visibility thing is actually a bug, you can see that if you have the newest video card.
