Icon change on .exe files?

Hey, I was messing around with Ivan's config and I tried to change the icon of the config.exe . But I didnt find anything that could do the job.

And my spanish windows only gets me lost in translation.
(windows XP home edition SP2 spanish version)



Can someone tell me how to change an icon for .exe?

Create a shortcut to the exe and change the icon for the shortcut.
(right click on the chortcut and click change icon)

or you could try to find a program that directly edits the exe to change the icon.

Hack? No doubt the contents of the executable even just the icon are extremely encrypted and attempting to modify it at all tells soldat that your hacking and renders it unplayable.

I would recommend asking MM, the creator of soldat.

There's a program I know of which can change the icon of a .EXE. I don't know if posting it might get me in trouble, but from what can tell it's really harmless (all you can do with it really is just extract/replace sounds, various icon graphics, etc.)

Just send Lord Ivahn your modified .ICO and ask him to replace the original for your mod configurator.

Look up ResHack. You should be able to change it using that.

What EnEsCe posts is correct and does apply to this.  If you want to have your Soldat show up with another icon, use a shortcut like someone suggested
