bja888s leaving
« on: December 23, 2006, 08:14:17 pm »
Long over due but I've made the arrangements to leave now. I put together an FAQ, post any further questions And I will answer in the next ~24 hours.

Where is bja888 going?
For over a year now I have been thinking about a new forum idea. A little while ago I started to think seriously about it, then put it to action. I was hoping to wait till I had the beta up so I could post things on my mind there. However, recent events have pushed me to leaving as soon as I could. So as soon as the family leaves after Christmas I am going to get to work back to work on the framework and have a beta up with in a week.

Why has bja888 stuck around here so long?
No where else to go. I really shouldn't of been around here as long as I have but I couldn't find anywhere better to go.

Will I see Jacks_Depression playing soldat still?
Yep. As long u13 is still up you'll catch me there at least once every 2 days.

Is bja888 gone for ever?
No, I'll check back every once in a while. I'm still looking forward to Crimson Glory. I'll be one of the first to register at the full price regardless of what ever discount the current registered members have. This is also not the end of the King Of The Hill game mode.

What makes this new forum so special?
There is so much more I feel would be interesting to discuss on a forum but most of you could care less. So I'm off to a place where people care more. This project is going to use some unique configurations of several existing technologies. I have peaked the interest of several people and am applying to be a business partner with Adobe Systems Inc. And I need to devote all my social skills to developing this community.

Can I come too?
Sure! If your interested in digital arts you'll fell most at home. Be warned though. This is going to be a more mature (for the most part) environment. Sign up for the news letter and you will be informed when we open beta testing.

Thanks for the faq man, I had so many questions about why you are leaving a forum. We all know its extremely difficult to leave an internet forum, I wish you the best of luck. I say run and don't look back! Run boy run!

(this breaks the lounge rules and should have been in the I'm coming/I'm going thread... but that said...)

so this is "I need to leave the Soldat forums because I want to go start up my own completely unrelated forum and I can't handle two things at once" ?

Some people might of missed it in there.

Thats nicer than saying "The new one is going to be superior in every except when it comes to soldat".

Its been left open cause its great to see the flames and laugh at people that will miss you. I was gonna lock it cause that would be great fun too... but still I can always look at your faq and laugh.

This is the internet guv....serious business, and we're serious admins.   >:(

Was it really necessary to warn us weeks in advance of your departure, then make a FAQ about it though? I really gotta say, I find this just hilariously pathetic. I've even invited a few friends to look at this and now they can't see through the tears while laughing at you.

I don't mean to be cruel guv, 'cos I honestly think you ain't a half bad bloke. Bit of a supercillious attitude and overly critical at times, but otherwise you're alright... but this is really sad man.

On a foot note, don't turn this into a fight, a drama-fest, or some rightous 'these forums suck so i've made my own' thing either, 'cos i've been around for a while and seen a lot of people take voyage away from here. History has proven, if you want to leave, it's better for you to just pack your bags and dissapear in the mist.
