Its like a text game, mostly, with humourous hand-drawn stick graphics. Parodies runescape, WoW, and pretty much fantasy in general.

An actual text game. Theres some weird bossfight images, but those don't count.

That was just a beta.  They let everyone test the beta, then they stopped hosting servers and wouldn't let anyone play except for Korean players.

Try Minions of Mirth. It's a nice Indie MMO with a trial that should last you a couple weeks (you can play up to level 20)
www.prairegames.com

As for completely free mmorpg's, completely nonexistant, unfortunately.

surprised that I am the first to mention http://www.runescape.com/
I thought everyone knew about that game. Or perhaps that's the very reason no one mentioned it =P

http://www.entropiauniverse.com/

I couldn't get into it, but it looks ok.

I'm also greatly looking forward to the release of Infinity: The Quest for Earth, which looks incredible. There's a combat prototype currently available, where you can experience a battle in the game. The development is coming along quite quickly too. It requires a pretty decent computer to run nicely though.

I wouldn't bother with Entropia. Not only is it not at all fun, but it's also proven to be a money sucker for many people. It's buggy, laggy, and not worth anyone's time. Also, the community is made up of 50 year old men. Seriously. Oh, and if you still play it after my warnings and don't pay any money, be prepared to become accustomed to this word: Sweating.

EDIT: Regarding that Infinity game, is it possible to disable Shader Model 2.0? I really wanna give it a try.

EDIT AGAIN: Never mind, looks like you can in fact disable Shaders. Awesome, I can't wait to try the prototype :D

I remember shooting a guy in the face and he tried to kick me for "spraying" at the same time he was butterflying and when he got close enough took out the shotgun and shot a random shot at the other person.
