Weather conditions.
« on: December 25, 2006, 09:59:57 am »
It would b better if u have made house and its not letting stuff trough, same with tunnels.
U have roof above and it lets water/sand/snow through.

That can be blocked with wather collider maybe??? :D

Sorry about my english. :P

Hmm... might be a bugger to program, but it would also probably cause Soldat to use a lot more processing power on maps with weather on since you would need to create a truckload of snow/rain/sand particles that could react and collide with polygons.

I think the way it looks right now is good enough. ;)

Yeesh... yeah, that would put a dent in smoothness of gameplay. :-\ It's a great idea, but changing the atmospheric effects to something small like the piss graphic and having them interact with the polygons likewise would need massive duplication of the same graphic (as of now, sheets of rain, snow, etc. are a few, very large graphics) to look realistic. And that'll only be a lag generator.

instead of that, you could make the wather behind everything, even back scenery or smth...

If I'm not mistaking, that's exactly how it works right now.

I meant behind everything, even "back" scenery.

Horve is correct. Do you see weather on building maps a lot? No, because the snow/rain/sand goes through everything.

I vote set weather to lowest depth.

but then snow would go behind trees, and background mountains and stuff. You know, stuff that it should go in front of. Otherwise it would look lie its snowing behind you, and not on you. Kinda weird. I say keep it as it is. Or atleast make snow collied with the ground.

you should be able to set the depth and possibly have multiple layers of depths... ie rain falls both infornt of anf behind a soldat.

Hurr hurr. Basically it would demand a lot more from your system.

What about roofed maps, ie. MrSnowman? No snow for them.

EASY SOLUTION ALERT!
Make a scenery for the inside of your house, put it in back, vola, no more weather right?

^We're trying to do this without modifying the PMS maptype.
