†'s name messed up?

anyone else see †'s name as a bunch of numbers? i see it in his name but as you can see in the quotes it says †

Is it just me?

I recently applied a patch to the forums that was released to actually help with usernames like his doing weird things (like how opera users couldn't PM him) but it looks like it has some adverse effects.  I've made a post on the SMF support forums and am actively looking into this.  It is most likely a bug in the patch I applied and it should be fixed soon.

I think it's not really a big deal since we can type it. Guess it's somekind of error in reading the user's database, or maybe because of the  profile link. Kind of interference between the link and the unicode or something

Maybe it was stored as † in the database and the mod changed the way that certain characters (e.g. &) are displayed.

†'s name is displayed as † now, maybe it was displayed as † before, which would've shown the character, not the entity for the character.

That is what I suspect happened

edit: I just went into the database and looked.  His username is t but his display name was †.  I changed the displayname to be t and it works now.  I'm going to make a post in the SMF community forums once they're back online (they're down for upgrades) and mention this as a problem with the patch.   The patch for the board should have been released with a script that would update the database.

Please let me know if his name still shows up weird anywhere.  Also, I need one of the opera users who couldn't PM him to try and PM him and see if it works
