m79 noobish weapon?

why m79 is noobish weapon? Its weapon like the others. What do you think?

The main thing about it what I hear all the time is, Its one hit kill weapon. Sure it is but do you people ever consider that we only get one shot at you and then we might be dead. Second is it has 3 second reloading time which also make us defenceless under that time unless we switch to some other weapon. Then when we Spawn we need to reload the damn weapon. During updates the range of the weapon has just gone down and down.

Then there is this hitreg for us, there have been so many times I hit them only to see my enemy boost away by my splash damage. The shot hit you and we see you bounce up but still you survive.

Then about point and click, ok that only happens if you get real close to us M79 user.

You may get just one shot before you are defenceless for 3 secs, but you only need one shot. I think the main reason why people hate it so much is because it really doesn't feel like you've had a good chance to kill the M79er. Because with autos, you shoot at each other, and the person who wins is the person who has the best aim, but with the M79 its just a case of running up to them and blowing yourself up in their face, especially if its a small map.

Sometimes it can be used with skill, but genereally its a good weapon for noobies to start off with.

every version a group of whiners will find a weapon of choice that they feel like hating, then they'll get mad at everyone who uses it.

already happened with the barret, mp5, minigun, minimi, spas and whatnot.

by the way, m79 was once a very respectable weapon, community has just changed abit.

 People call it "noobish" because, unlike other weapons that can actually be more efficent, the m79 has an "annoying" factor. People don't like to think they don't have controll, and while other guns can arguably kill you a lot faster or more consistantly with one clip, people precieve it as "fair" because they can try and hop around a bit before they die.
 Most people that use the m79 know that it's far from the best weapon, and in many situations and maps, it's a big handicap to use.

xD lol. It's a good weapon just to get the feel for Soldat's explosions for a couple of minutes I guess. I never really used it too much when I started playing. I used Barrett  .

Because it's too easy to believe that a gun that kills people in 1 shot is easier to kill with than a gun that kills people in 10 shots.

If you use any weapon exclusively, you probably suck at the game, It is the people who could easily drop their barret and pick up an mp5 that do well in the game.

If you can only use the m79, your moment of shining in nuubia will be over when b2b is next.

M79 is only nooby because a noob will come running for it whenever they see opposition (all the time)

I just hate it cause its overused. I dont like looking at the console to the right and seeing like 8 m79 kills compared to my one barret/ruger kill. I honestly understand if the team noob uses it, he's not much danger to anyone, but what i hate is when you go to grab the flag and are peppered with about 12 m79 shots at once...No escape.

Using one weapon makes you good at that one weapon, but you will lose quite a bit if you couldn't change it up a bit.

The problem is how annoying it is.  On Nuubia, which is picked a lot, it's nearly unstoppable, unless you use it yourself.  That's the only problem I really have, the up close shot.  It's impossible to miss, and kills you.

Also, the m79 is used for a lot of controversial things like boosting over the top in b2b, or whatever.

Heh. I don't think it is really a noob weapon, but then again... I play in R/S. If you use that and miss your enemy you are likely to die.  One hit kill weapon, but yet IMO at least, it seems to require a bit of skill.

wat i think, as a pro m79 bomber is that sure its a gr8 weapon but it can be very difficult to use. as som1 sed be4, it doesnt always 1 hit kill  and can always only bounces them away. people say the barret and m79 are noobish weapons wen its just that their not good at using it. too use a barret u hav to be very accurate or ur shots gone to waste, and with the m79, u hav to understand its principles of how far the weapons ammo will go, how to use it smartly to avoid dieing and to be able to kill one after the other. wat i ussually do is hav a m79 and a knife, i roll then jump and shoot em then swit5ch to a knife and throw it at them if they dont die.

Now in reply to what you said; If you learn the principles of how long the shot goes, there's nothing more to learn, and you can kill someone every shot. With autos, you have to hold your accuracy (and know the bullets distance simultaneously) and hit a person multiple times to actually kill them.

Though with a one hit kill weapon such as the M79, it's one click of the button, and you can use the reload time to line up your shot for the next guy you want to kill.

Another interesting note. People that complain about getting killed by a m79 are usually the ones that pick the same route, or react in a very similar way to every confrontation. When a target acts in a very predictable way, it becomes a very good target. Any good M79er WILL be good with almost any other weapon, because of the skills needed for it ( aim, speed, prediction, and avoiding being killed while reloading) transfer over extremely well to any auto or even semi auto.
 If someone can hit you every time with 1 grenade every 4 or 5 seconds, how do you think they will do when they can shoot at you for 5 seconds, and only have to land 1/3 of the shots per clip?
