Remote Administration Help
« on: December 27, 2006, 04:09:53 pm »
I ran a Search on the forums, and one other person had this problem, but their post dropped, so here's hoping someone can help.

I'm trying, like most other people, to get my Soldat game online so I can play with friends.  I ran the Connection Tester, and everything passed except for Step Three:  Remote Administration.  I have port 23073 open for TCP/UDP, but it still failed.  I'm not sure how to resolve this, or what its looking for to fix, as the ports on my router are all open.

Can anyone help?

The admin thread wasn't spawned because you didn't specify an admin password in soldat.ini, under [Network].

I added an Admin password, but every time I run the dedicated server program, it blanks it back out again.  I can't set it to read-only, because everything else can't save then.  How does one keep it from blanking the Admon password every time it boots up?

Ensure the server (or Soldat if you happened to do the completely unrecommended practice of installing the server into the same folder as the client) are not running when you edit the file; they will save over the file when you exit and effectively write over your changes.
