I would destroy all forms of spawnkilling, because i think it is retarded and silly that nobody does anything about it.

Another thing I'd do, is make soldat resizable,,,so you can run it at whatever resolution you want it at. And have the config program built into Soldat itself....so then I don't have to quit Soldat to edit my settings!!!
More weapons!
Flashbang grenades......
The ability to hump dead bodies (halo style :P)
I'd prolly make it 3D too...
Add the ability to customize your weapons (add scopes, silencers, grenade launghers, LAM, Flashlights)
And...prolly make a hot coffee mod for it (Soldat Sex anybody? :P)
Just another soul to burn.

Assuming I knew Soldat's programming language:

Some level of weapon customization would be fun (like someone said earlier).

Maybe classes, or some type of ranking. system (Like sergeant and General rankings)

Destructable Terrain.

More weapons.

A built in mod changer.

And the ability to use air-strikes would be fun. Maybe that should be implemented into a new gamemode too...

Interactive scenery.

Ugh, too many ideas.

Bone collector, that body humping things already in there, we call it /pwn
I think destructable scenery would be cool. It would take a LOT mind you to keep the map from wearing down to nothing in no time. I mean like an artillery's worth of m79's could blow a chunk out of the ground (wait! that'll encourage explosives! I thought i hated m79s!)
Maybe vehicles like helicopters, motorcycles and jeeps... Can't see you fitting much else in.

Well, then you can have your polys divided into two groups: Destructable and Solid. They can both be made in  deadly and ice and such. You can place a giant indestructable poly as the base of the map and build the destructables on top of it.

That's what I'm saying.  Enough with these rpg ideas that would require me to try and these vehicle ideas in a massive city full of Soldats.  That wouldn't be Soldat.

I would simply improve the network coding, change it to tcp/ip.   Maybe port it to C++ for linux.  Piss off already with the vehicle crap.

... maybe custom gosteks too :P

I'd quit Soldat. Soldat would never be the same once you add all this other crap in, like the World of Warcraft style junk mentioned in the OP.
Well, what I'd assume would happen is that you have MM or some trustworthy person in charge of the main Soldat "trunk," where all that would change about Soldat would be bug fixes and upgrades that generally everyone would agree on, such as improved network code, more gostesk options, and that sort of thing. These SoldatRPG things would just be branches off that trunk; if/when Soldat goes open source, you don't have to play Final Soldat Fantasy LVXII, but rather the option to create/play that game is opened.
I think opening the Soldat source could be very beneficial, as having just one person work on the code is not very efficient. (Not saying that MM hasn't done a terrific job thus far ;))

No offence, but i think this leveling and rpg crap for online would totally suck
Although most of the time i find myself disagreeing with you, this time I dont. It would be annoying because some people like to just download soldat and get in the game, but everyone else would kick their ass because everything about them is better because they felt like beating the singleplayer campaign. Pretty gay if you ask me.

well, this wouldnt change soldat itself, it would be like all those nifty mods for halflife (i.e. counterstrike, team fortress, deathmatch classic, ping pong and so on) and any modification would create a game for itself. so you cant join a "ULTRA RPG MOD" server with usual Soldat like the weapons modifications in usual Soldat allow

Read and overthink your post ;Q

Right, it would be a different game, and you could choose either to play that different game or the original Soldat and most persons would still stick to soldat, but the once who like it could stick to that different game which would then be kind off a stand alone game. got my idea?

I'd create a Soldat similar game regarding all the physics, but with mages and knights instead of modern guns. It would have many MMORPG elements like experience that increase the power of your spells or strikes slightly with each kill or level... still it'd be a multiplayer arcade game :) Jet would be replaced by "Levitation energy" and all gosteks would have angelwings ;D I thought 3 abilities for each of about 10 classes, one primary ability, one secondary, one passive (like an aura) and a 4th "ultimate" ability which is learned with the highest level :D

10. Could you make a mod with fantasy elements (like mages, potions and magic)?

What the hell are you?

11. Can you give me the source code of Soldat?

Eeee, no?

//That's questions ten and eleven of MM's soldat FAQ.  and everyone wonders why he won't release the source code.

jk though, i think medeival stuff would be cool.  i think you would probably have to ditch all original semblance of old soldat to do that though.

And yes papercut, that pic is even better the fifth time.  can i see it again!!??
Without originality society is doomed.

I'll contract EA games to figure that out.

I would add a kill and cap counter, missions for single player, improve maps with moving platforms (elevators), and as The Bone Collector mentioned smarter AI.
