i'll start out by saying that the lame camper was me. and yes, im a noob

I was on ctfkampf on alpha when i accidently found that hiding spot on the high route. thats the one where you start high on the left and hold down the "right" button and get wedged in that spot right before the bend on the bravo end.

Anyway, I was camping there with the M79 killing serveral people as they came around the bend. i didnt think i was that well hidden because the pants legs were sticking out. and they were hot pink. but people were too stupid to notice.

Then I had somewhat of a genius idea: ill just go ahead and switch to gray pants to camoflage in with the wall.

It matched perfectly. Guys would walk all the way up almost close enough for me to punch them and id nail them in the back as they continued to go to the left. One guy even accused me of hacking.

eventually i killed myself by accident thus ending my lame killing streak.

lol i think thats hilarious that you changed your guys colors to camp better hahaha. ya, i geuss since you are just starting out its not a big deal, but i think you will find the game much more fun than just sitting around and waiting for people to come to you

I always change my colors to green to blend in with the bushes and trees.  Hell, even in CTF_Death, I would change my colors to red/blue (depending on which team I was on) and just go prone and wait for my prey to come.

I used to have everything green as well so I could hide better. But nowadays, I'm wearing white pants with an orange shirt. I just don't like the standard green camo colors anymore.

What you described right there was exactly why people camp; when/if you happen to do it at the right place, at the right time...  It's a magical experience.



Reminds me of one time in ctf_laos:

It was when 1.2.1 was out; and back then, I used the ruger exclusively.  I was on alpha team, and we were having a tough time--particularly with our flaggers making the return trip to our base.  I decided that I'd had enough of it; so I headed down there, crouched down behind the crate on the left side of the big ditch, and shot everything that came at me.  As I single-handedly kept the bottom passage clear of bravo players, I also team-chatted for the flaggers to return via that way.  It turned into such a well-oiled machine that, upon a teammate capturing the blue flag, I was able to aim my gun at a certain angle, and kill everyone chasing the flagger without ever even seeing them.  When someone finally killed me, people on bravo team were under the impression that I was a whole group of players armed with barrets.  At the end of the day, I ended up single-handedly securing victory for my team like that.

I doubt I'll ever have a moment like that again, heh..
