Invisible cloak?
« on: January 03, 2007, 10:44:24 am »
On the newss sometime ago then were talking about an invisible cloak. Is that really possible? They said something about kicro atoms or something blah blah blah. And then they showed it can do something that makes it soo it will be invisible.

Not to be rude ds dude, but why must you ask pointless questions that are borderline spam.  Just google around and research this yourself. It would be different if you wanted to discuss how it could be done or could not be done and not just "is it possible?".  You're an intelligent kid despite your grammar skills ds dude, you should make some effort to show it and prove others wrong, and not ask silly questions.  Again, I'm not trying to be mean or rude, just keep that in mind the next time you start a topic similar to this. :)

Illumination is not reached by visualizing the light but by exploring the darkness.

I'd prefer being a petty thief and conman who is bailed out of jail by my brother in return for undergoing an experiment that implants a "quicksilver" gland in my head that allows me to turn invisible. When my brother would be killed, I'd end up working for a top-secret government organization (disguised as the Department of Fish & Wildlife) in return for a counter-agent which keeps the gland from driving me insane.

If all the cells of your body and the other particles on it were to somehow change into a state where light would pass through them, you would indeed be invisible. However, dust and random particulates would land on you, so over time, you would become a dusty outline. Plus, all food and water you ingest would keep their visible states and leave a trail on your digestive tract and... water hole.

we were talking in our physics class about it
apparently, although it wouldnt work very well and would be hard, you could use optical fibres.
You could have thousands of optical fibres that start at your front and move round the body to your back, if someone were to look at you they would see whatever was behind you cos of total internal reflection in the fibres.
problem is it would be so hard to get it to work on all parts of your body
but you could make an invisible door/wall or something instead :D
