160 fps here. I always run in windowed. No difference in fps when using the soldat window resizer app, either. Of course I didn't test if fullscreen made a difference, but using the resizer effectively makes it fullscreen without the annoying resolution changes.

heh, thats exactly what i mean, and it's because the whole map (along with every soldier, explosion and particle currently 'alive' at the map) is in memory for every damn second, no matter if someone try do display a small 640x480 part of it, or use a haxed window to show the whole 3000x4000 map. The fps truely sucks when playing with about 30 players using auto-rifles + nades.
I've recently read a bit about directx games design, so i know that is an issue of the programmers' lazyness(or he's very short on free time, i dont know..) not to optimize the sourcecode.

Yeah, i know i whine, but wth, i paid, and so i demand:P

I play with tops 12 players, in full screen, and at too big custom maps, I get steady 30 in fps. With 12 players, in full screen, at default maps, I get a steady 60 fps. if windowed, I get 200 fps. And I have a bad computer. If I have Xfire on while I play, by fps immediatly shrinks to half. And honestly, I think it runs just great with 60 fps.

Yeah, many keys on the keyboard seem to be able to trigger that...
Can't think of anything original to put here...

Soldat might not be 3D, but all the drawing is done through the gfx card. Also joo might have vertical sync enabled.

argh no lag fixing?

anyway how did the lag become so huge i the change from 1.2.1 to 1.3? (and worse at 1.3.1). and if you fix the net code you would probobly get 2x your normal amout of registrations. I am not sure if soldat is worth 9 dollars with this lag.
