... a few weeks?  I am flabbergasted as to how MM could say 1.3.2 will be released soon on 14 Oct 06 when clearly it wasn't soon (that was over 3 months ago now).  I understand that there are bugs that need to be fixed, but many of these bugs should have been a swift 'look over the code' to fix.  These new features had better be worth the wait because I don't expect a feature like coloured text will take three months to implement.  I don't even need to wait this long for the nintendo Wii.  I have been playing for several years now and I don't really want to quit, but seriously, if I am not "WOW'ed" by the next release then I am going to quit soldat on the basis that you can't have people on the edge of their set for months and then disappoint them.

Like Matrix 3 and the recent Godzilla movie remake, I was looking forward to both of them and nearly felt sick when I saw them and was so disappointed with how shit they were.

Back then it was thought to be done even way before jebus day. Then there was this annoying bug that had to be sorted out for almost a month. While MM was losing sleep over that we asked him for lots of other favours and fixes. Don't even get me starting on wep balance disagreements... then when spectral leaked the beta it got a bit crazy.

5th. Don't get me wrong but I think that a new version should not be announced so prematurely, that is, before the beta testers had even seen the new version.

The problem that held up 1.3.2 testing and development for most of this time was not a "look at the code" problem, it was a problem with how Soldat was compiled that caused the beta not to work for the vast majority of the team.  That problem was resolved shortly before this thread was made and is what prompted him to update the world on how it is going.

It still took 3 months for MM to inform us on how it was 'going'.

Would you have preferred that he posted and gave on information while he was still having the problem or until he knew what was going on and had the major problem fixed?

It would have been pointless for him to post before that problem was fixed.  The beginning of those 3 months was spent working on the new version, but the rest of it (and most of it) was spent trying to figure out the compile problem which put a dead stop on testing and development.

One thing I want to say about general attitude : MM is not forced to post new info. You don't own MM life! Learn to wait!

edak, I don't think that "You took too long to release a new version" is a reason to not play a game. You have 1.3.1 now, so there is nothing to worry about from the wait for the next one.

Yeah, I kinda feel sorry for MM, the major and hard to deal with bugs really get on my nerves. But at least hes still working on it. Go go MM! Ganbatte~

You have misquoted me, I never said that I was going to quit because it took too long, rather that I was going to quit if I wasn't impressed with this new version that I have so eagerly waited for for many months now.  I know what it's like to program and to have bugs in software (i develop too, but not games).

Personally I believe that once the release has been announced, the public should be informed of any delays sooner rather than later.  If you tell thousands of people that their favourite game is being upgraded soon and simply don't speak of it for months, then that 's a lack of communication.  MM could have said something in November or December, but nothing.

Don't get me wrong here, I know MM is working hard on it (now that we've been told) and I appreciate that, I am simply saying that I don't appreciate being left 'in the cold'.

Well it's quite obvious that it's not easy to make a game like this and updates can't come here and then.
You've got to appriciate whats going on and the stuff inbetween becuase it isn't going to be one smooth run from start to finish.

Well as for what I'd like to know... What is exactly going to be updated?

Mostly bug fixes, a few new features and new anti hack software.

Any exact date that anyone hears from anyone is a lie.  Nobody knows when it is coming out until it is out, not even the beta testers.
