I finally found out haw to describe the awsome ness of your artwork. This was after looking through your sheezy art, and seeing this comic. Description:

"I like your artwork so much, that I want you to have my babies, but I don't want you to give birth to them (gender Issues anyway) I want you to draw them."

i am totally unworthy of that statement, but thank you! and i intend to keep it coming, i have a minor block right now but will get around it soon i think! ^^

edit: t-bone & 2big: thank you!! and T, if you want to start drawing, with a lot of practice anyone can become good. often much to their surprise! but music is still an art =3

update!! pages 9 and 10 are up!

...and apologies. i traditionally do this... i churn out tons of stuff over the period of a month or so, then take a break... it lasts a few days to a few weeks, then i'm back in the groove again for another month or so.

the challenge here was i had a slight block halfway through page 9. i wanted to show the tension and indecision, then do a small way to show he was jumping out of the pit, so on the next page it would half a 3/4 view of him running with bullets flying everywhere. fortunately i overcame that block, so this period was rather short.

i can't promise when the next ones will come out, but i have a pretty firm idea of what'll be in page 11. this may last to 15 or more pages at this rate, so i'm more than half done at least!

well, i /fiiiiinaaalllly/ got around to page 11, and I'm halfway done... i'll try to get at least to 12 before i post them up.

it's about to get even more exciting! (i hope)

First of all, can't get over the way you drew his face in the top panel of page 10. Ruddy artistic, that, I love it.

Ok, I like it. Very different to usual Soldat comics, refreshingly so. However, I have some criticisms I'd like you to consider.

The way you shade and draw blood makes some of the drawings unclear..I'm no expert but maybe you should try using charcoal for shading, rather than pencil, for a smoother, less scratchy effect.
I hate your use of the Papyrus font in the comic. It just makes it seem unprofessional, I can't really explain it more than that. I would recommend downloading a nice comic book style front from Blambot (use one of the dialogue fonts on that page, the ones without red bullets next to them are free. I'd suggest 'Digital Strip').
Swearing. Most of the time, there's no need for it. Used in small dosages it can create atmosphere and emphasis in the dialogue, but when you use it liberally like in this comic, it makes it feel almost, well... immature. In fact, this is probably the main reason I don't read most of the comics that have been created by the Soldat community, because too many artists feel they need to slap foul language on everything. However, I feel yours has enough potential to have it mentioned.

stalky, thanks for your comments, it's more or less what i've been looking for since i posted.

i have a confession to make; i put almost /no/ effort into dialogue. i spent most of my post-drawing phase figuring out how to show sound effects right (which is really hard ~.~ ) i had a friend re-write the first couple pages (and they were drastically improved). i'll ask him to re-write the rest... he's pretty awesome.

as for fonts, i really pretty much chose 2 and used them. i'll check that site.

as for drawing style... using charcoal is messy, and i don't wanna have to clean my scanner off all the time XD i could just use a softer pencil tho... my shading style is pretty much 'to show depth + when i feel like it'

i think i just wanna finish it, then i'll go back and redo some stuff. i can redo text soon, but drawings... well, i'll get to it sometime.

this is essentially an experiment. i'm using crazy angles and scenes and methods to kinda see where i am with stuff and explore ways of showing images. i'm glad you like it =)

I can understand about the charcoal, didn't really think about that. Maybe a softer pencil would work instead, I don't know enough.

I'm interested to know where you'll take this. Producing short, but epic, stories about soldat, or draw yourself into something along the lines of a graphic novel? Maybe you won't want to keep drawing about soldat...which would be a shame, because this is the kind of thing I'd like to anticipate updates for, every week or something.

wow, thanks... i think i may do short stories about each map... i know! when i'm on the last page, i'll have a poll about which map for me to do next... that might be fun!

edit: page 11 finished! on 12 now.

well, i have finished page 12 and am back on track, plus i re-wrote all the horrible dialogue from before. i'm swamped with unit and weapon designs for something else, but i'd really like to continue with this comic. once i separate all the pages, i'll upload them.
