Cortex Commander.. wow. I got an idea, let's play a game where it takes twenty minutes to walk two feet! And here's another, let's not have a mouse aiming system.

That ****, sucked. I'm going to try Gunster, for no good reason, to see what it's like. But if the users that have commented it are right, I'm not very excited.


So far none of these games even compare to Soldat. There will never be a better 2D shooter. Soldat wears the crown now and forever.

EDIT :

Oh and that PawnGame, great flippin' idea to run a game completely in Flash. Morons.

Screw downloading Gunster's 250MB installation.

It isn't actually all that bad, it can be very fast paced if, and there is a map editor to make new games

I dont really lag or anything so its not too bad for a 2d shooter. :P

what other flash shooters are there? all i know is pawngame and stick arena (tons of hackers) that are multiplayer


edit: all of the other games mentioned haven't been near as good as soldat, they have either been bad controls, as in no mouse aiming, or too slow or just plain stupid(the cleaner).

Tried Madness Interactive recently? It is what got me interested in soldat.

i have tried it, but since it is not multiplayer it does not (at least for me) have a high replay value

I prefer multiplayer games, but that could just be me

It has a humoungous userbase, and even more mods and tweeks (downloaded version)
I am sure someone has tried to make it multiplayer.

The only other 2D online shooter I enjoyed playing was ARC, but it can't really compete with soldat.

If you wanna check it out, http://forums.arc-hq.net/ (yea, you gotta download it via the forum coz it aint supported anymore by sierra and hasnt been under development for at least 4 years.)

I found that pawngame isnt a bad gun game for being made in flash, there are no hackers, lots of guns its mouse aimed unlike most of the other games.

For me soldat owns all but pawn game is the only other gun game that i have liked.

I can remeber playing WORMS(used to play the world party on PS and PC, this one was good to play sometimes) and Liero (LieroX, I hate the aiming with keyboard)...
But of course they can't compete to Soldat...

For a gamemaker game it's quiet nice, but I don't unterstand it... You're flying through strobe-world shooting some weird stuff, I don't think this is LIKE Soldat in any way.
